The property was cosy and peaceful. We had a lovely stay overnight.

We verbleven een nachtje in de familie suite. Er was geen koelkast zoals gezegd wordt op de website. Volgens de website konden we bellen om van tevoren een koelkast aan te vragen. Dit bleek niet mogelijk te zijn en alleen een emmer ijsklontjes was aangeboden in plaats daarvan. Daarnaast was het hotel behoorlijk smerig. Vloeren, deuren, ook de douche was smerig. Zelfs de glazen (thee en water) waren niet schoon. Dit hotel is ook zeer gehorig, waardoor we hebben slecht kunnen slapen.

The service was good but the condition of the rooms was not so good - cobwebs, dusts, heating system not working but portable heater was to the rescue.

Extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble. They were kind enough to make us some food even though the kitchen was closed. Only one small negative is that I had booked a triple room and was given a perfectly adequate double room, but the double room had the continental style single beds pushed together which leaves a potential gap down the middle if you like to cuddle. Great selection of gins in the bar at great prices.

Great food, room clean and very comfortable. A great find slightly off the beaten track. Will use the Beacon again when heading down to see family.
