A very old 16th century inn with low ceilings and lots of stairs. Rooms are spacious but bathrooms are tiny. We had a king size bed and enough space to open out 2 suitcases. There was a walk-in shower but no bench space for your toiletries. Also no tissues. The room was warm and there is no air-conditioning or fan so can become stuffy. Complimentary tea and coffee in the room and a mini-fridge with some mini bar items. Breakfast was included in room rate and as well as continental selection, you could order hot items from the menu. My partner loved their eggs benedict. Tastefully decorated with artefacts and art from the local area. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Superb friendly staff, cleanliness and ambiance of the whole hotel. However, the ‘comfort double’ rooms are tiny: not sure how two occupants could comfortably sleep or even manoeuvre their suitcases. And, unfortunately, I didn’t sleep the whole night due to the suffocating heat - even with the sash windows wide open there was no air and it was stifling hot. There was still a thick winter duvet on the bed too. But worst of all was the noise: the dividing walls are paper thin and I heard my neighbours talking, walking and showering - with the loud door banging too - it was a very unpleasant experience - more akin to a hostel.

Check in did not go as planned when we arrived they did not have our booking for the right day it was on their computer for the following 2 days, however they did have a spare room and all was ok.. Expedia advertised a guaranteed parking place at the hotel in the discription, this is not altogether true there are 8 parking places for 14/16 guest rooms and people using the bars and restaurants so it's a first come lottery.The rooms are lovely spacious and comfortable and all the staff we met we're friendly and helpful especially woolfy and her amazing quiz night,we didn't win but had a great night and met some lovely people,Hi to Cat and Sasha who had just got married.Breakfast was exceptional and we did have one evening meal in the bar smallish portions but nice,The drinks were a little on the expensive side.All in all a lovely few days away

Spent three nights - breakfasts excellent. Dinners good. Brilliant base for exploring the North coast. Great walking area. Parking - right outside the hotel. Bar Quiz Night great fun on a Monday night.

Is a lovely hotel with a great atmosphere. It is located in a beautiful area and only a few minutes walk from Bostcastle centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is cosy. The restaurant is lovely and the food (although not much choice) is delicious. The sheets, bedding and overall conditions of the rooms are clean and comfortable. Sadly the fuses in our room "blew", so we had to move to an alternative room, which was extremely small, and not what we wanted, or had paid for. The staff were very empathetic, and allowed us to cancel the second night we had booked there and refund the money. Despite this hick-up we would have no problems in staying there again.

We stayed in the turret amd lived it's space and quirkiness. The hotel itself is lovely and keeps you fit as there are quite a few stairs, depending on where you're staying but it's decor and style is beautiful and we loved to read about it's history. Mat was so friendly and helpful and welcomed us warmly and ensured we got a parking space before helping us take our bags to our room. We ate out with family but came back to enjoy a cocktail in the bar, whilst listening to Shanty Sam. Breakfast was superb with every element full of flavour and cooked to perfection, which is unusual as with most cooled breakfasts, you normally find one thing overcooked/not tasty, etc but we enjoyed every bit of it. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back again another time.

The Wellington has a great location in Boscastle and is a good base for exploring the area.

Mat and Wolfie made our stay at the Wellington wonderful! Both were helpful with suggestions for hikes and food. We had long conversations with each. The pub had a nice fire,and Wolfie was kind, hospitable, and intriguing. Mat helped us find the most perfect room as we were walkins arriving just before dinner. He told us stories and laughed and enjoyed our interest in the area. It was definitely one of our most favorite stays in the UK. The hotel is charming and a quintessential UK pub hotel. The food was excellent too! A full five star stay! Thanks Wolfie and Mat!! We will see you again.

A lovely 3 nights. We were warmly welcomed. our room was spacious and comfortable with all we could want. Excellent service and good food.

We had a great time - unique seaside and fabulous village`s location, fantastic design of the hotel, attention to detail, cosiness, very friendly staff, lovely, delicious rich breakfast. the room was uniquely cute - old England with modern service, very clean, coffee machine, table-top stylish airconditioning, tea set with local biscuits and tea, cute ceramic cups, warm throw, local drink filled fridge, huge TV screen, tall soft bed, unique warm curtains (throughout the hotel) - all these little things created a great atmosphere for us. Same time be ready - the architecture of the hotel has its own unique age, so some rooms on the highest levels will require you to use very small and steep stairs; our small room for two had a big period beam above one side of the bed, I loved it, same time it can be hard for someone older to crawl under to get into bed. This did not spoil the overall picture at all, but perhaps it is worth knowing about it in advance. You will enjoy this place!

The room was lovely and hotel and facilities are excellant.

I surprised my wife with the booking as we were both off work to celebrate my birthday. She was impressed so much so she wants to go back next year in the summer. On the last day however, we were served by a young man who didn’t seem to like my wife’s order and had a terrible attitude towards us but thankfully we were leaving afterwards.

Es war alles wunderbar! Vom Zimmer, welches sehr liebevoll eingerichtet ist bis hin zum Personal, das sehr liebenswert und zuvorkommend war. Wir haben abends sehr gut gegessen und fantastisch geschlafen! Auch das Frühstück war traumhaft. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊
