This is a wonderful location near the national park. If you are wanting to hike the waterfall trail in the national park, it is only about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel. The hotel is unique in its design and location. It is nestled into the natural surroundings, and the grounds are lovely. There is a further hike across the road on some grounds owned by the hotel, and it is a nice little introduction to the rainforest. There are multiple bird species in the garden. The hotel has wide floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the valley, and you can birdwatch from the main dining area. The food here is excellent as well. There is homemade bread with fruit/eggs/porridge in the mornings. The coffee is also plentiful and good. Some may find that these rooms need "updating" to modern decor, and that may be true. But, I found the rooms to be clean and well-maintained. The aesthetic of this hotel is unique, and I appreciate this more than any standard boring aesthetic from contemporary hotels that all look the same. The owner has clearly put thought into the decor, and it reflects the unique personality of this hotel. I would definitely stay here again. This are remains relatively undeveloped, and it is a good getaway from more touristy areas of Costa Rica.

Great meals. We did not go to the national park but it is not far down the same road.

The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were lovely, although we did not have a chance to walk through the garden. The staff was wonderful and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I would highly recommend!

We didn’t stay long. We had a reservation for two nights, but decided to move on after the first. We had booked a tour and left early in the morning, but decided not to come back and to move on to our next destination instead. The staff was kind, but it wasn’t really what we were expecting or perhaps what we are used to.. it had more of a feel of a retreat than a hotel. Long shared tables in the dining room and very basic rooms. Can’t really say anything bad about the place, just not what we expected. Definitely would have needed s coffee maker in the room however as I wake up at 4:30 am and need coffee.

Amazing dinner and breakfast (with freshly baked bread no less!). Great views and just minutes away from the National Park. Couldn't recommend this little gem enough.

What a hidden gem. The views were incredible and the staff was super friendly and helpful in terms of directing us to places to explore. We d highly recommend this lodge.

What a beautiful, unique and warmly hosted lodge. And with great atmosphere and delicious food. We wished we booked longer, and will return again. Highly recommended!

Nous avons séjourné qu'une nuit mais l'accueil a été chaleureux par la propriétaire , emplacement de choix proche du parc ténorino , chambre style vieillot , belle fenestration pour voir la belle vu , espace commune pour le déjeuner parfaite vue impressionnant il y a aussi un sentier que nous avons pas eu la chance de faire , je le recommande si vous désirez aller au parc national .

Nice surroundings

Joel at the front desk was very friendly and amazing. Although we stayed only for one night, the hospitality we received was great. The breakfast was served on the table with plenty of items. Joel offered plenty of advice for visiting the national park, the general safety tips, etc. The views were breathtaking, wish we stayed longer.

The lodge is in a beautiful setting, but the experience was spoiled by poor management. The owner at the front desk greeted us coldly, upset that we hadn’t added our 5-year-old to the booking. We paid $20 for a minimal breakfast he barely eats. The room had a long list of strict rules—no outside drinks, limited lights, etc. We felt watched and unwelcome. Great location, but the attitude and control ruined the vibe.

We did not realize there was no ac. The humidity was bad which caused the room the have musky and moldy smell. The pillows smelled really bad like they don’t get sanitized in between customers. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. A very calm environment.

Closeness to nature. Staff were very accommodating and always willing to listen and assist. If you want to rest and reset, this is the place to be.

Excellent service.Room are neat and clean.

Booked the room for friends in Costa RIca for their 41st anniversary and they really enjoyed their stay!
