We had sunday roast which was excellent and breakfast was also excellent

We travelled for a funeral and stayed here as the wake was in the same place The room was around the side with its own courtyard and table/ chairs for outside sitting with ample parking Although those that used the bar next to it came in and out of the fire door which we had to keep pushing shut so we could get out of the small courtyard The room in itself was clean with a few minor faults being light outside bathroom didn’t work but didn’t affect us really and small marks on the bed throw We would have liked 2 chairs inside as 1 chair for 2 people people didn’t work so we used the patio chair inside not ideal but coped When we arrived there was a wedding and also a wedding anniversary but the noise was minimal then a Prom next evening which we were amazed at and yes the music was loud in our room but by 11.15 silence ensued so that was bearable The food was good in the brassiere The staff were fabulous and very attentive if needed

We stayed in the executive bungalows room, these rooms have nice little patios, which was welcome on a warm June evening with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. We found the staff polite and friendly. We ate at the brasserie in the evening and the food was excellent. Breakfast was good. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained with lots of seating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

The room was dirty spider webs in all corners, The room as no privacy at all if you don’t shut the curtains , should have used one way glass or mirror stickers so people can’t look straight into you room. It was noisy but that was understandable due to a local school prom night. Even so when I booked this could have been mentioned. We were travelling back from a funeral in Manchester and could have done without this, I understand they running a business. The patio was nice but the views was spoiled by cars The dinner was excellent not expensive and good quality. I tipped the person serving she was very helpful. Breakfast was strange I know we were after 9 am but before 9.30 am no coffee cup available a nonchalant approach, didn’t look happy in her job. The welcome on arrival could be a bit more friendly. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel the restaurant yes definitely.

Everything was good. We were in a bungalow which was quiet despite there being 2 weddings going on. Lovely gardens.

The rooms are advertised as luxury but in my single room there wasn’t a wardrobe or any coat hangers just a cluster of about three hooks hinged together. The food in the Henry VIII restaurant left a lot to be desired only ate the evening meal there on one occasion out of a 4 night stay, the fish and chips were very fatty and the chips were nearly black. Regards to the breakfast over the 4 mornings the fried eggs were always cremated as was the bacon, on one morning I had a poached egg which turned up solid never had an egg without the yolk being solid. Definitely wasn’t worth the money. The noise from the bars below went on until midnight not a very good place if you want an early night.

Great place to stay, always clean and tidy with great gardens.. Breakfast is always excellent and friendly staff.

Muito aquém do valor cobrado. Quarto muito pequeno, casa de banho com chuveiro sem porta que deixava o chão alagado. Ventilação do wc não funcionava e não havia janela. O pequeno almoço também não foi servido como de costume. Não tinham uma máquina de tirar café, apenas café de num termo. Pouca variedade de pequeno almoço.

My daughter and I stayed over for her best friends wedding. Hotel was lovely. Good was delicious on all occasion s we ate there. Staff was so very helpful and friendly.

Stayed one night to attend a RL game at Castleford Tigers - great location, we were in one of the bungalows, a really nice large room with patio. Good buffet breakfast included. We will be back.

Everything was perfect, we had the best of days

The staff at the desk and the event room staff were very helpful but the house keeping left a lot to be desired they only partially vacuumed the room once in our six day stay and only have of the time restock the condiments and toiletries and one day they couldn’t be bothered to put the bag in wast bin . And we booked a executive room and was give what appeared to be two joining compact Room with no where to sit which is the reason we booked the executive room they did off different room one with no window and one with a view of a wall and roof covered with garbage so we settled with the first one . The gardens outside were nice .
