It was good in general

This hotel can do better when paying at the hotel site. I booked on Expedia and quoted USD hence there is no reason that upon presenting my US credit card I am told there is a fee for using this card. The preferred option from the hotel point of view is to pay in local dollars. I didn’t have local dollars so I used a Guyana debit card which carried less fees.

Awesome local breakfast

I stayed with my family at Herdmanston Lodge recently and we felt right at home! The entire staff was welcoming, professional and accommodating to all our needs. The food and complimentary breakfast was a highlight daily for me!!! Fresh juices and tradition Guyanese meals I was simply overjoyed!!! Great location and very convenient to get around town. I look forward to returning sooner than later! A/C was powerful, cleanliness was great! I would absolutely stay again!!!

The staff was all friendly and courteous. The place is kept clean. Loved the gardens.. My stay was lovely in a peaceful and beautiful place. I will definitely do it again whenever I visit Guyana. Thanks to all who my stay great.

Don’t know and didn’t have a balcony view

This is a small family-owned hotel, and find it's personalized nature to be very satisfying. Many of the staff have worked for the hotel for many years, and they recognize you by name. I feel very at home and safe while staying there.

Staff in restaurant was the best. Really fantastic. Person that I spoke with to settle checking out in the morning was a little rough around the edges with being customer friendly.

Lack of sound insulation in the room. We could hear every car that passes on the street, people talking etc.

Description as a sort of lodge is accurate. More of a traditional building than a modern cookie cutter hotel. My room had lovely dark wood floors and a large covered balcony. Staff were great. Breakfast was excellent.
