We had a pleasant stay at this guesthouse. The man who greeted us was friendly and welcoming. Our Queen room on the second floor was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom and a nice mountain view from the balcony (the picture is taken from the balcony during sunset). There was plenty of parking behind the building, and the kitchen had useful amenities, including a kettle and an oven. Overall, it was a great value for a one night stay in Prince Rupert.

It was reasonably priced and ok.

I didn't need the kitchen or laundry facilities but they appeared clean and ready to go.

Room was dirty, there is no way you could tell me the sheets were changed since the last visit. No elevator. Pictures on the sites did not match reality. Not enough towels Avoid this place!!!!!

We came in late night around midnight or 1am on both trips and each time there was a staff member waiting to check us in. Super appreciative of that level of service!! The Black Rooster is a collection of 3 separate buildings and we've stayed in 2 of them so far, each time the rooms have been clean and beds comfortable. Great facilities and easy parking around the buildings. They even offer pet friendly rooms. Highly recommend staying here when you visit or pass through Prince Rupert!!

The apartment was great, clean, well equipped. Just wished there was better sound proofing between floors. Could hear conversations from the guests above until 2am our first night.

We booked & paid for a PREMIUM apartment for 4 people. Previously in 2023 we had what we thought was the same booking (pictures were mostly the same) and it was a very nice, classy apartment with 2 bathrooms etc. in a newer building. This time we were shocked to be given a STANDARD very small, dark, 2-bedroom, 1-bath older suite in an older building. The fridge did not work, so we were given another STANDARD room in the same building. It was a bit better, but had 1 very small bathroom and a mix of furniture, some in poor condition & not all clean. The window screens had a hole which let in the bugs. Dinnerware & glassware was all mixed & matched, not like what we had the first time. Our invoiced stated that it was a standard room.

Easy walk to downtown and wharf.

There was no lighting on the back/side stairway when we arrived after 11. I am elderly and could have tripped and fallen. Also, the bedside lamp doesnt work on one side table. No anti slip mat for in the very slippery tub. All danger things.

Very comfortable and clean.

This is an overpriced youth hostel type property. The property is old, furnishings need replacement. You could hear street noise all night and then the packing of cars beginning at about 4:30 am. Would not come back.

There aren’t many options for a stay in prince rupert and we liked the idea of having a full kitchen so we could cook etc. Room smelled like deep fry oil for our 3 night stay and many of the dishes were dirty, requiring us to wash before using and again after. Dish washer had chunks of food in it. Gross. Beds were clean and comfy. Furniture is tired and feels unsanitary. Bathroom door didn’t close fully and tub had soft spots. Host was awesome and stayed up late for our arrival on the ferry (1am!! Thank you so much!) We spent most of our time out of the suite so didn’t make a deal of the uncleanliness to the host. Convenient location.

Nice kitchen in the shared apartment. Well maintained, clean, convenient, friendly and kind customer service. We loved it!
