We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hammer. The hotel is located outside the town of Kriens and is accessible via a long windy road by either car or bus. If you're bringing a car, like we did, you can park for free at the hotel and use the regional bus and train system to get around the area. The bus can take you directly to Lucerne in about 25-30 mins. There's also fantastic hikes and "wanderwegs" that are accessible by foot right outside the hotel's door. The hotel provided a lovely continental breakfast. They also maintain a dinner restaurant on certain nights of the week, which I would recommend trying. The food was great. Our room included a comfortable bed, private bathroom, and balcony (no fridge or tv in the room). The owner/manager, Manuel, was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

It was pretty far but it gave the lovely peaceful and nature vibe. I was tired of the crowds and this place gave me a nice recharge. Even the hiking spots were uncrowded, I had the place all to myself. The staffs were great, I am a non-german speaking tourist and the staff helped me a ton (like the menu) to understand things. They also helped me with my luggage for all the stairs. The room was chalet style, wooden floor and spacious, there was no air condition but there's a balcony that you can open to let in fresh air. And from experience, I didn't really get mosquito bites. The washroom was right across the room, but it wasn't shared and you can lock it so it wasn't a big deal. And my favorite was the view from the balcony overviewing what I believe is Mt. Pilatus and all the greeneries. Overall a great experience especially if you want a quiet but beautiful getaway place.

We loved our stay here! It is an easy drive from Luzern and the view from the deck is beautiful, especially at sunset when the mountain takes on the “alpine glow.” Dinner was excellent and there is a great breakfast buffet with both hot and cold food. For those interested in TV, there is a family room off the kitchen with a large screen TV. Maybe best of all was the owner who was extremely welcoming and helpful. He cheerfully answered our many questions and made sure that I had s very happy birthday in his hotel. 5 stars!

Hotel Hammer was the best! Our private room and bath was clean, cute, and felt luxurious compared to other places we have stayed! The views were amazing. The staff is friendly and everything that was provided for us was either lovely or delicious. Highly recommend.

The staff were so friendly. They gave us great recommendations for our next stop on our trip as well as things to do around Lucerne. The breakfast was incredible and the staff was really attentive to help when we were confused. The property was very clean. The view was incredible. And its such a good property for such a low price, which really helped me on my first trip out of the country. Definitely recommend, the bus isn't too expensive to get to Lucerne from the place, just hop in the SBB app.

The staff was very friendly and extremely professional. We would gladly recommend this tiny slice of heaven! We look forward to coming back.

When we went, they were under renovations. However, they upgraded us to a deluxe room with a picturesque mountain view and balcony. Everything was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone!

Nice hotel in the mountain valley. Every staff is nice and friendly. Very tasty and great presentation of breakfast. Excellent choice for relaxing and enjoying beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good with homemade jams. Narrow roads to drive to hotel but worth it for staying in beautiful mountain valley.

Beautiful lodge surrounded by a stunning terrain. The breakfast was generous and the staff couldn’t be more kind. I honestly can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Il personale è stato estremamente cordiale e disponibile, ci ha fatto sentire subito a nostro agio. Colazione ottima, varia e di qualità. Abbiamo anche ricevuto un graditissimo upgrade della nostra sistemazione, molto apprezzato. L’hotel è attualmente in fase di ristrutturazione, ma i lavori stanno procedendo molto bene e promettono un risultato finale ancora più accogliente. Consigliato!
