If you're looking for a place somewhere between a hotel and a traditional Danish guesthouse, Refborg hits a pleasant middle ground. The room was surprisingly spacious and would comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. Everything felt clean, practical and well maintained. Refborg markets itself as a 3-star property and generally delivers exactly that standard. No luxury finishes, but no unpleasant surprises either. A nice touch was the in-room coffee station. Not something you automatically expect at this level and very much appreciated when checking out before breakfast service. Being able to produce an emergency morning Nescafé before facing the day deserves credit. The reception was friendly, personal and refreshingly efficient. No corporate rituals, no unnecessary paperwork, just a straightforward check-in that felt more like arriving at a family-run guesthouse than a hotel chain. The room offered a proper desk, two TVs and a clean bathroom. The mattress was on the softer side and sound insulation could be better, as normal conversations from neighbouring rooms were audible. Families will likely appreciate the property even more than business travellers. The children's playroom is excellent and the entire place feels genuinely welcoming towards families rather than merely accommodating them. One point worth mentioning is pricing. During my stay the rate was 1,453 DKK (around €195), which is objectively quite expensive for a 3-star overnight stay.

Located very close to everything. It’s a walk to the library where the bus stop is located to get to the Velje train station to/from Copenhagen. The breakfast is delicious with a little of everything including traditional Danish breads and cheeses. There is no elevator. The steep round stairs up and down are dangerous especially if you have luggage and mobility issues.

3 nuits dans cet hôtel (un des rare de Billund), petit déjeuner très correct, chambre pour 4 très agréables. Comme souvent dans ce genre d'hôtel nordique, l'insonorisation n'est pas optimale mais on a l'habitude. Mention spéciale pour la sympathie, l'accueil et les services rendus par le personnel de cet hôtel. Je recommande si vous devez faire quelques nuits pour profitez, biensur, de legoland et legohouse.

5 star all the way! Our room was cozy and clean clean clean .The beds were extra comfy with nice down duvets. The staff were so nice and so friendly. Our waitress told us a little about the hotel which was very interesting . The Restaurant was our highlight of our stay .. from the homemade bread and the delicious butter ! I had the most amazing steak with homemade potatoes with glazed carrots and vegetables. I had the best steak I have ever eaten .We can’t wait to stay there again ! And so convenient to get to the airport. I might add there is a grocery store right next door. Thank you for a great experience!
