A beautiful and welcoming place to stay in Ponta Delgada for our honeymoon! The staff were absolutely the best - so kind and helpful. The morning breakfasts they prepared were delicious and included local fresh food! We couldn’t recommend Hostel Matriz 55 more !

Great place helpful staff

Ich würde dieses Hostel eher als ein top modernes B&B taxieren. Neu renoviert, sehr geschmacksvoll einrichtet und wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Wir kommen gerne wieder. ACHTUNG: Diese Unterkunft verfügt nicht über einen Lift. Der einzige Nachteil, den wir finden konnten.

For the price one pays to stay here I wish the breakfast was a bit more than just fruit bread cheese and yogurt! But other than that the place in itself is fantastic!

This was our first trip to San Miguel and to Hostel Matriz 55. We had a wonderful stay there and Pedro and Susana were excellent hosts! They were very helpful with suggestions of restaurants etc.and made us feel right at home. The patio on the top floor had the best views. We would definitely stay here again when we return to San Miguel! Love, Dr. Mike and Carol

Terrific location, excellent, clean accommodations - our room and bathroom could not have been more spacious and pleasant. I highly recommend this place and definitely plan to stay there again. I loved meeting owners Pedro and Suzanna and enjoyed meeting the other guests.

Clean, comfortable bed, friendly host, easy walking distance to many things.

Room was spotless. Bed was very comfortable. The place was welcoming and with lovely decor touches. Pedro and his wife were super nice and helpful. They also helped with booking tours- making sure we get a discount. Breakfast was nice, included homemade cake and cookies. In the heart of downtown! I certainly recommend this place.

What excellent hosts and premier location. Air condition rooms, private bathroom, wonderful breakfast, new bedding. Walking distance to all key areas downtown. They even arranged breakfast and taxi for us at 5 am. Greatly appreciated. Can’t recommend enough. In American terms no way a hostel!!! Go

Hostel Matrix 55, struttura nuovissima, molto bella, in pieno centro storico per cui è comodissimo visitare la città. Personale sempre molto gentile e disponibile... grazie Monica !!! Grazie anche a Pedro e Susana che sono stati due eccezionali e amabili "padroni di casa" sempre pronti a consigliarci i luoghi da visitare o i migliori ristoranti in cui mangiare.

Es ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gutes Frühstück mit hauptsächlich regionalen Produkten. Absolut empfehlenswert.
