Property is in need of an upgrade, carpets are worn, paint coming off the doors, the place is ok to stay in but 100% needs an upgrade, no plug sockets next to the beds, something was on the wall in the bathroom and ripped off and replaced but the wall was never repainted or fixed, looks tired, bed is is very high to get on, also having to pay for parking to stay there adds a lot to the cost of the room should be included in the price

The room was clean and comfortable, and the lake view was beautiful. The onsite pub and restaurant had just closed down , which meant a walk alongside the lake which was only a few minutes, to the pub restaurant next to a Premier inn. There was a lot of activity on the lake when we arrived and other activities advertised on site. This was only a stopover for us but was pleasant

Check in was terrible, I arrived about 11pm, no one was there apart from a note on the door to call a central receptionist who then WhatsApped the codes to get in and to get my room key. Couldn’t find my room and had to call back to be told I was in another building. Had trouble finding the right door to get in the next building and then had no code for that building and had to cal back again. Parking was in the dark and payment machines were to dark to see Room was ok but not the best but the check in and out was shocking

Had a nice stay here. Room was clean, tidy and warm. Location is beautiful. A Greene King below and a nice cafe opposite. Would definately stay here again.

Terrible, needs an upgrade. When I arrived there was a pint glass in the bathroom. Due to a broken flush that was left as there method to flush.

Very old hotel that looks shabby in all honesty. If the vibe is meant to be that of an abandoned Premier Inn then it does the job perfectly! Also a lot of noise from the football pitches outside, though it didn't go on too late. On the upside, it was clean and the staff were friendly, plus it was warm in the room (which was required for winter!). Plenty of tea/coffee to be had and it is a nice location with walks and scenic views. 2 pubs nearby as well.

Lovely room and incredibly clean which is nice. However hardly any staff there ever. We had an issue with a couple of things and no one there to sort it so just had to make do. Also at night there is an emergency exit light which is extremely bright and nothing to black it out. The views were really lovely though and the place is quiet. My partner had a lot of difficulty getting into our room though as there was no one at reception and we booked for two. He had to call a number whilst I was at work and the lady on the phone wasn't helpful or proactive about the situation. She also gave my room number out to the wrong guy which is a safety breach.

I rarely give these but I’m afraid the Willen was poor on so many levels. When we got there we paid £15 per night per vehicle the Cleaning of the room was shocking with awful dust on walls headboard and lampshades. Housekeeping didn’t come in over out three night stay. My tv had clearly not been working on any channel for a while but luckily I packed a laptop. Internet was beyond shocking so had to tether to my phone to watch anything. It’s clear the hotel is struggling financially but these things are basic for travellers needs!

Needs updating

Said it had car parking then a £14 charge. No iron in room. Tiny tv... Bathroom / shower in poor condition, carpet crap, just poor and unwelcominf

The outside of property was dirty. The inside decor was tired there was bad smell of drug taking outside property Rooms tired bad stains on chair. Lights not working. Extractor fan wasn’t working on bathroom. This was a birthday gift for my husband

Firstly got there we booked a view and balcony of the lake they gave us a shabby old room a disabled room with a window onto the lake no tv working no hot water staff was rude to my partner when he spoke to them about this matter told us they didn’t have the room we wanted after lying they then gave us a room with balcony and view no hot water untill we spoke to staff in the morning not great

Lovely area great views. Restaurants nearby were fine. Room was clean although floor probably needed better vacuum. We moved rooms as receptionist warned showers had been repaired. They were not working very hot no cold coming through but opted to stay in room as view good.

Nice location but rooms exceptionally hot. Staff very friendly but the hotel is tired and needs a refurb.

Our 2nd stay at Willen Lodge. Comfy bed and clean bathroom. The shower was powerful and it was very quiet overnight. Previously we had a lake view room and this was the better option in my opinion. This time we had a room overlooking the back of the property which was not as pretty! A 25 minute walk to the theatre and restaurants.

I am still waiting on a refund as I got double charged for the room I payed twice when I should only be paying once this is a joke and have been wait 14 business days it’s 120£+ I’m still waiting …
