This was the 3rd time we have stayed at La Reserve and we were very excited to be back. In the past, I would have always given La Reserve 5 stars but something was off this year. Our studio was lovely and had all the amenities that we expected. But there was a definite difference in the way La Reserve was managed this time. While we expected to enjoy a continental breakfast, we were disappointed in the offerings. It seemed like the baked items could have been picked up at Costco and just put on a sideboard. We felt as if we were annoying the staff when asking about milk. During the breakfast hours one morning, a handyman came in and dropped off his supplies right behind us. Then proceeded to hang around the kitchen door while the guests were trying to have a quiet breakfast. The table linens had crumbs and the coffee and tea water were not hot. We were so disappointed that on our last full day at La Reserve we chose to walk to a lovely cafe, Good Karma Cafe, and have a light breakfast there instead. Later that same day, I discovered that one of our unused towels for showering was either dirty or stained but I needed to use it as it was all that was available at the moment. I did receive a replacement but by then we were leaving for the day. Separately, these seem like minor issues, but together it felt like a pattern of losing focus on the guests. We aren't sure if we'll stay at La Reserve again, but for now, sadly, we won't be recommending it to family or friends.

Great location, historic house, loved it.

It was a very unique vibe. I didnt know we had a shared bathroom due to my lack of research however it was right next to our room so it was not a huge inconvenience. The check in girl was super nice. Breakfast was a vibe also. We would go backbut get a spot with a bathroom and t.v.

Location was perfect. It had plenty of room. Items are a little dated but overall pretty good.

When uli arrived i noticed the ceiling had a crack and was sagging. Later that evening when we walked in the room about 10 feet x 6 feet of the ceiling collapsed. Pieces of debris were all over the room. Luckily we were not in the room as the heavy debris was directly over the bed. The handy man came in and i had to find a new place to stay. Needs renovation .

Cancelaron mi reserva, después me ofrecieron un hotel donde ellos cubrían los gastos, al llegar a ese hotel me tocaba pagar el cargo completo que era 560 Dólares, es una de mis peores experiencias, la solución que me dieron fue enviarme a un hotel más económico pues yo debía cubrir el deducible respecto al valor total; yo no cancelé, fueron ellos y aparte me tocaba pagar 300% del valor que yo había pagado mediante Expedia. Todo fue un desastre, me comuniqué con ellos desde ayer y solo hoy cuando fui al hotel Sonesta pude hablar con ellos, el encargado no sabía qué hacer, tuvo que llamar a su mananger. Y finalmente estoy sin la habitación que reservé, sin la habitación que ellos asignaron en otro hotel y no pagaron. Pésimo servicio, es una pena!

If you are staying here you are already OK with the concept...super old and creaky. Its basically clean, my room was fine. The price reflects the room. The front desk is pretty much never there, so if you need anything you need to call. At least one person at front desk was pretty rough, literally yelling at me on the phone about how its OK to block all traffic to unload. Weird. My second room had no TV and shared bathroom, which for me was an experience, but again, the price reflected that. Breakfast starts way too late. 7:45 im gone already.

Great value for the money and location

My stay here was okay. The staff and service was great! I was really disappointed with the breakfast tho, that was honestly the reason why I booked this place because I didn’t want to go out in the morning and buy breakfast. The breakfast was terrible, the “buffet” had apples and oranges, pastries you find at the store, yogurt, and cereal. It was nothing like the reviews said. I stayed here on a weekday, Maybe they only serve nice breakfast on the weekends?? Another thing I was disappointed with was the lack of amenities. They don’t have a TV, a mini fridge or microwave in the room. Just be aware to not bring stuff that needs to be put in a fridge or microwaved.

We enjoyed our stay at La Reserve. A big room with high ceilings in an excellent neighborhood. It was a throwback to the days of true Bed and Breakfast Inns (except the breakfast was more in line with contemporary "Continental" standards.

This location was very convenient to many restaurants and attractions. It was very quiet and the beds are so comfortable. Very spacious rooms too. Staff is very attentive and the breakfast was great. I will definitely stay again whenever I visit my daughter in Philly!

At check in there was confusion regarding which room we had booked. The receptionist did well and it was later sorted out satisfactorily with the owner.
