It has traditional and fantastic rooms.But TV sound of next room annoyed my family through night.

Breakfast time is from am8:30. But we want to ride the departure 8:50 train. Next train departs am 9:50. So we can't have breakfast. The rates incluse breakfast . I think that this hotel must indicate about start time of breakfast at onlinetravel agents.

Comfortable and very clean in a perfect location for Windermere and Bowness. The welcome and Customer Service were outstanding and better than several places I’ve stayed at. The Howbeck team really care. Breakfast was great and again the customer service at breakfast was outstanding.

Breakfast was probably one of the best we've had in years. Staff are really attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean, Car park safe and convenient. Will definitely return.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful getaway, we highly recommend booking The Retreat. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome. Our spacious room was equipped with great amenities, and we especially loved the spa bath with air bubbles the perfect way to unwind before bed. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with plenty of options, served on our private patio, before taking a short walk into Windermere. Everything about our stay was just wonderful.

Close to town restaurants, nice home decor

The Howbeck was exceptional, with a great breakfast.

There are a lot of different breakfast options, and the food is great especially the bacon in Eggs Benedict and the sourdough bread. The spa bath is great, and the bathroom is nice. The only problem is the extra bed is a bit too soft, and the bed is a bit too low. Access to transport is near, as Windermere Library bus stop is near (basically in front of the hotel!), so is Windermere Railway Station as it’s an 10 minute walk via High Street. Overall the stay is pretty good.

We absolutely loved staying here. Its a beautiful hotel. Our host was really lovely and the room was perfect. Would definitely stay here again. The location was just perfect. Only a short walk to lake Windermere.

Fabulous Hotel. So warm comfortable and welcoming. Rooms were high standard. Bath with jets was lovely after a walk. Breakfast....too much to eat and so delicious! Staff attentive and friendly.

Great location, parked on the front, easy walking distance to Windermere. Few cobwebs on ceiling and bedside lamps were not 5 star standard

The hotel is in a great location for easy access to Windermere. The pool was a short drive away, and as we were there for only a couple of nights we didn't get to use it. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Our bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. Would be very happy to stay there again on our next visit to Windermere.
