I appreciate is a 2 stars hotel but the sink was dripping, the shower wasn’t properly tight the remote control was covered in a weird sticky substance and the room actually stinks Just list it the way it is.

The shops was near by the room was very nice and clean only thing no lift and my room was on 5th floor did not manage the stairs to well would stay again if on lower floor good location and near buses

Not impressed. Read the other comments but they say a picture tells a thousand words, so here's my photos. Also beware, it says you'll get a text with codes to access the hotel and your room. I got mine some 2.5 hours later so didn't get into my room until 6:30pm. I'd driven for 5 hours and trying to message the company was a waste of time.

The hotel would let us even checking. They are a con. Took all our mo ey then said we’d cancelled n wouldn’t give us our money back. We were left stranded with our kids in middle of Brighton. Hotels.com wouldn’t help us either

We booked a twin and were given a small double. We are are work colleagues and this was not acceptable. They refused to help us and ignored us. The toilet had no toilet roll. And the windows were boarded up. The toilet window does not close. I would never stay here again

Don’t touch with a barge pole!! Check in was a) a rip off asking for copies of passports and credit cards and costing extra money and b) the most ridiculously difficult rigmarole that I’ve ever had to go through! When we arrived at the property it stank of Marijuana, there were undesirable people hanging around and another family and a couple also walking out of the property in disgust. People were struggling to get into their rooms. The room itself was a complete joke! The bed was broken, the wall paper was falling off, it was dirty, there wasn’t room to swing a cat. How you could call this a family room, I have no idea! We felt unsafe immediately. It was no place for children and they were both really scared. We were forced to book in elsewhere at short notice on valentines weekend and pay extra for it. We were furious!! We have since tried to get our money back, as this wasn’t safe let alone ‘as advertised’. The ‘hotel’ (I use that term very loosely - maybe drug den!) eventually refused to refund our stay, after hotels.com struggled to get hold of them for 5 days! I hope that hotels.com have learnt from this and deleted them from their website now! In short - DON’T GO ANYWHRE NEAR THIS PLACE!

Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed, no check in desk or staff. Room was filthy and unclean , dirty sheets , blood on the curtains. No working light in the room. Broken bathroom and no flooring. Left immediately, contact hotel via WhatsApp , no response for hours. I have photos to document this , Warning do not ever stay here. They refused any accountability or refund.

The room was dirty. I asked before arriving if towels were provided and was told yes however for 3 guests we was provided one towel. Asked for an extra towels and was told ok but never given them. The bed was not made properly and the bath had lots of hair in it when we arrived. A very bad smell all around the hotel. We’ve stayed here a fair few times and never had an issue

They charge a £5 non refundable deposit per person on arrival. I paid £30 for early check in, we had to wait almost two hours after check in time foecro to be ready. The room stank of drugs, the ceiling was so low we could not stand up, the banister was loose, the sheets stained and dirty and it was freezing cold! We had to leave as both my girls have autism and they were in a terrible state because of it ! We had to pay for a different hotel. Never again

The hotel has a virtual reception desk, so you send copies of your passport/driving licence and proof of payment for insurance, which is an extra charge (which was not mentioned on booking.) The problem is uploading those documents produces a message saying "Congratulations! If you have correctly uploaded the required..your check in is complete." The result should be you're sent access codes for the front door and room key safe at check-in time. But if you haven't uploaded correctly, you're not told. On completing the upload process I got another reminder, so thinking something had gone wrong i did it again. When i arrived to check-in I hadn't received the codes. After twenty minutes in the rain, with another couple who had the same problem, I tried uploading again, with my driving licence instead of passport. I then received the codes - it may be the pic of my passport was unclear, but there was no feedback. If I'd known I could have sorted it out in advance. The couple had to access the concierge by WhatsApp to sort it out. The next day i found the front door lock not working. The electronic lock had failed because batteries were low. I had to contact the concierge by WhatsApp, confirmed that was the problem and was told maintenance staff would be sent. I asked how long that would take but received no reply. A disabled lady in a wheelchair was also locked out. Fortunately a cleaner came and put the door on a latch. It stayed that way, i.e. unlocked, for over a day.

We had to check in again at the hotel there was a very large mirror in the hallway that could of fell on anyone, you had to remember a security code to get into the main door and then you had to get a key safe number to get into your room , the bath handle kept falling off, the ceiling had damp coming threw the dirt was terrible, and the cleaning staff were rude and just kept on their phones and didn’t want to help with anything

It appeared clean but stained carpets and bathroom floor. My wife also stepped onto a sharp peice of glass. Luckily it didnt get stuck in. The double bed was sinking into the ground from the headside. Had to place pillows on opposite end to sleep straight. Still it was like i was on a slide had the wall not stopped me sliding down. Im not sure for other rooms, they looked nice but if you get the ground floor rooms which sleep 4 people, its a terrible idea unless they fully refurbish. Even then its very suffocating and cramped. No handgel for bathroom, sockets are faulty and no soundproof walls or ceilings so could here people. The staff were smiley and im sure they were nice but didnt bother complaining as there was too much to say. Hotel was full so didnt count on an upgrade. I would avoid the ground floor rooms especially if you come as a family.

I had non stop problems with my stay with the X hotel - thought for Brighton it was reasonably priced with the room being for 5-6 people ‘DELUXE’ family room but when we arrived it was a box room with dangerous wobbly staircase we literally had to crawl up to get to a loft room where we had to crawl to the beds too. The beds were hard, 1 plug socket upstairs. Definitely NOT the room advertised we booked. The walls were half painted, dirt & dust all over the floors, a bathroom door that didn’t shut. A kitchen the width of my arm basically in a cupboard. It’s the most shocking room I’ve ever seen especially for the £300 price for 2 nights. On top of all that I was asked to pay multiple fees for ‘insurance’ and ‘breakage’ deposit. DO NOT put your card details outside of Expedia as Expedia mentions because they will start randomly charging your card. I was charged for the room again too so all in all around £650 was taken out of my account which set me back for my stay in Brighton. Eventually after many calls and hours later (ruining the whole of our first day in Brighton) they refunded the duplicate room rate but not the rest. Getting hold of any staff from this property is mission impossible. Even weeks before our stay unanswered questions and only automated message we had was when they wanted money. Never have I been so disgusted with a service & have put in a complaint as we should be refunded. Photos taken to prove all of this.

Was a surprisingly pleasant stay at this hotel, i was worried after reading some of the reviews but it was actually a nice hotel, the bed was comfortable, the bedding was clean and smelled fresh, some areas of cleaning had been missed but it wasn't a problem for us. The decor was so interesting and was nice to stay in a hotel with a bit of personality.

The 2 ladies were very helpful when we arrived and offered us both a cold glass of processco, which was nice,the hotel room could do with updating abit but overall the X hotel looked after us well.
