Well I wouldn’t describe it as boutique or luxurious but it was ok. Towels and bedding had washed in red staining, some sharp edges on the fan in the room and window had two settings closed and garage door wide open. When a room is marketed as cosy I should have understood that meant small. The check in process with no staff at the hotel is ridiculous but I guess some people like the lack of interaction. The rules regarding check in and check out are a bit prohibitive at 4pm and 10am. The place feels basic and for me, didn’t feel like value for money. Bed was comfortable but in this weather a single sheet would have helped over a duvet. Also had issues overnight with revving cars in street so didn’t sleep well.

Wir haben dort Niemanden die Tage angetroffen. Unsere Uimmerkarte war im Aussensafe hinterlegt, da der Check in Terminal defekt war. Zimmer war klein, aber ok. Das Rollo im Zimmer ließ sich nicht hochziehen und keine Klimaanlage. Am meisten hatte mich die Dusche gestört. Ich bin 190cm und auch noch relativ schlank, aber die Dusche war viel zu klein. NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN. Der Duschkopf hing bei ca. 193cm und die Dusche war 70x70cm, wobei die äußere Ecke noch abgerundet war, war noch weniger Platz vorhanden, hinzu kommt dann auch noch die Duscharmatur von ca. 10cm.

The building and room was perfect, a home from home. All very clean and comfortable with a small kitchen fitted out for a short stay.

Really beautiful old hotel. We stayed in room 22. Second floor. There is no lift here. Not much of a view just roof but it kept the hot sun out. Comfy bed, lovely bathroom. Not much in the way of milk etc but there is a cupboard in the foyer for extras. No housekeeping in the 3 nights but again you can e.mail for more towels. Fan was pathetic, luckily having read reviews I brought my own. TV , iPod dock and WiFi. No on site staff but actually we were able to speak to two people. Self check in. Car park is first come first served and the huge planter in the drive looks lovely but takes up too much room. A stones throw is the town centre and bars etc and a short stroll to the river. Loved it would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, no staff and no food, unable to park the car on late arrival, but the location is great.

Great location - set back, through an ancient arch, from the main town square and pretty quiet, but within very easy reach town amenities, the Abbey Gardens and the river.

We were given room 1. This bedroom has an adjoining room which has 3 boilers attached to the wall which is behind the head of your bed. They make a noise all through the night . We barely slept.

Great location. Lovely room. Great parking. One criticism it would great to have a fridge in the room as well.

This is not only an incredible hub for visits to Oxford and surrounding areas, but it is beautiful and well-maintained. Our stay was wonderfully comfortable, and the staff were helpful both via email and in person.

Self check-in and spacious fresh renovated room in quite location. Room contains small kitchenette and local restaurant around in walking distance. Enjoyed our stay and 14 minute drive to Oxford

This historic building has been beautifully restored, congratulations! The Old Abbey House is in a perfect location in the centre of Abingdon. Our room was a deluxe king suite (garden view) and was faultless. Thoughtfully designed, spacious with a separate seating and kitchen area making for a very comfortable stay. Check-in was very straightforward.

A lovely stay in the centre of Abingdon, whilst visiting for a party. Would definitely stay again. We had the suite which overlooked the grounds which was spacious and worth the extra money, our son was in a different room which was much smaller. Parking was limited but managed to park as someone else just left. Thank you.

Lovely space, beautiful grounds and close to the river - peaceful. I took the bus to Oxford back and forth for meetings and it was a very nice trip. Hotel was everything I needed, no complaints.

The staff is extremely hostile and unreasonable. Would definitely not recommend this place

Parking was very easy and secure. The town centre is only a few metres away, so the location is excellent. The room was also very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated.

Limited parking onsite but public car park very close. The hotel is very central so everything is close by. The tapas bar was delicious! We stayed in the Trendell suite, which was huge, very clean and excellent value for money.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent. The location was unbeatable. There were great options from food and drink nearby. I would happily stay there again, even if 10am is rather early for a check out (especially on the day that the clocks go forward!).

Parking is quite small - you might need to find an alternative if there are more than 10 guests.
