⭐ One Star for Hospitality, Five Stars for Existential Comedy and Scary Movie set If you have wondered what it’s like to vacation inside a David Lynch fever dream — look no further than the Albany Hotel in Hove. Let’s start with the setting: it shares a wall with a boarded-up, abandoned building that looks like it’s about to star in its own “true crime” documentary. Now, finding your room is part escape room, part Olympic trial. When the kind and genuinely lovely staff told us our room was “just up the stairs and to the right,” what they meant was: ascend three flights of creaking stairs, pass at least one or two portals to parallel dimensions, take a sharp right, go down a half-flight of inexplicable stairs, follow another hallway, make a suspicious right turn, and open a door that you’re only 65% sure isn’t cursed. Also: there were at least two lifts — clearly long deceased — both quietly mocking us with their dusty OUT OF ORDER signs like two metallic tombstones of convenience. The stairs themselves were their own adventure — not only because of the sheer number of them, but because they came with surprise doors. Randomly-placed, vaguely ominous doors you must pass through mid-staircase like you’re completing a side quest in a haunted video game. And the carpet! Let’s talk about the carpet. Imagine “The Shining,” now imagine worse. Faded, worn, and deeply confused

Toilet not clean. Carpet gross. Poor in generell. Staff was friendly.

No bath as promised and no tv

The chap on reception was very helpful. Hotel advertised parking but this is chargeable. Room was clean, but mattress was soft. Overall a great budget stay

Perfectamente valido para una noche. Hay un paseo agradable hasta el centro. El hotel tiene mucho tute encima, las habitaciones se nota que necesitan una renovación total, no hay nada especialmente moderno. El personal fue amistoso y nos ayudó en todo.

There was no hot water in the shower, no cold water in the bathroom, Bed sheet are not cleaned Otherwise, staff are friendly, room is spacious.

It was like Faulty Towers of Brighton in 2025. We were shown 2 possible rooms to stay in. We picked the best of a bad room. The carpets were awful, thread bare in places or paint all over them. The bathroom tiles were held in with screws. No bath mats, TV or anything. The bed mattress was very uncomfortable and seemed to have a big dent in it, which made it hard to sleep on.

The property is tired and dated and very noisy hearing most noises around the property, we had to turn the car park lights on at dusk from our room, very strange However found the staff very nice and helpful

OMG ! the old pipes made such a ratchet on the top floor . The bed was falling apart.

Realy good value. Hotel didnt look great from the outside, however the room was good with all the expected amenties. Good location and friendly staff.

This is an older property, but it was clean, convenient to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The staff was great.

The shower does ñot work. The plug does not fit the bath. The lamp shade has holes in. There was tape on the doors and pictures. The carpet is stained. The chairs have big stains.

Was well looked after even after arriving early in morning we were accommodated and allowed to check in, room was tidy clean and comfortable. Could have provided a small tv and a microwave, otherwise Top Marks for the Albany will stay again and oh the price was reasonable and fair, Thanks to Asher.

2night stay, was kept up all night by drunk guests. Was not nice to stay, so left and found somewhere else fo eth 2nd of my planned nights

No lift and room on third floor, fire exit blocked with laundry, noisy toilet, loads of padlocked doors for corridors.

Excuse that there was a problem with the Ariel but nothing was done to call an engineer to fix the problem it is the 2 nd OYO hotel that this problem has occurred
