We had a lovely stay at Pan Haus during our Halstatt trip. The bed and breakfast is run by a warm and friendly couple and our room faced the beautiful hills. The location is very convenient, close to the bus stop and train. This was our first experience with a WhatsApp check-in and code entry, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast is reasonably priced and freshly prepared. It’s simple but delicious, and the owner is always happy to chat with you. There are a few restaurants and a bakery nearby. The owner was incredibly helpful in suggesting bus routes and alternative ways to reach Halstatt. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay.

The pension is conveniently located for exploration of the area by car. My room was clean and the property is well maintained. The reception desk representative is not present in the building. You have to communicate with them via SMS, email, WhatsApp. This involves check in and check out. Upon my arrival I had to send them a photo of my national ID to receive a PIN for opening the entrance door and my room.

Very basic room. No frills. Location was fine for what we needed. There is a restaurant 3 min away. Access to room is with a code that was provided via email. We did not have breakfast. Never saw any staff.
