Beautiful beaches, fun resort whether you want a quiet time, or party time there's something for everyone

It’s a pretty property. Shame they don’t care for it better. The attitude from the staff and the litter blowing around the lobby at check-in are unfortunate but it was downhill from there. Didn’t have water 3rd morning. Toilet broke the last day. TV didn’t work on arrival. To say the food selection at the buffet was average is extremely generous - Soggy french fries at every station for dinner?! Otherwise it was bland, mislabeled, overcooked, nightly repeats of the same unseasoned soups, mushy vegetables, soggy pastas and mystery dishes. So I tried the Indian restaurant-ordered quinoa tofu-it came barely room temperature, no tofu and very cold tomato chunks. Asked about the tofu, the gentleman shrugged said no tofu and walked away. So I mostly stuck to fruit at breakfast & from the dessert bar at dinner. After the trip, I found out the week prior there was no power for 3 days and no water for a day and a half. So I could’ve done better research but the pools are lovely and they’re generous with towels. My goal was to relax, get a tan and read a book with a beautiful view…and I was able to do that.

The facilities were unclean and unkept. There were bugs in the bathroom. The air conditioning was lackluster. Our room key cards stopped working every day. It The service was terrible. The staff was rude. The food was mediocre at best. Some food was burnt while some was undercooked. The pool was dirty. The water was so murky that you couldn’t see your legs and yet no one cleaned them.

Excelente servicio. Puedo volver a reservar en este hotel.

The staff that work at the buffet had great customer service, friendly and helped at anytime specially Frandy and Franklin great!!!

Todos os dias tinham baratas tipo francesinhas no quarto, embora estivesse sempre limpo. Pontos positivo: muitas festas todos os dias. Pontos negativos: Pouca informação, comida só era boa a noite e mesmo assim os restaurantes reservados embora atendessem até às 21hrs não te recebiam mais depois das 19:30. Comida Buffet com muita quantidade e sortidas mas com pouca qualidade. Muitas moscas no local inclusive próximo das comidas. Comidas e bebidas frias. Péssimo café. Muito, muito distante do centro.

Food was not good Rooms bad smell

Bedbugs I got bitten up phone didn’t work and I reported it and the table top was broken and I reported it and they never fixed it

The Riu Republica had a lot of food to choose from, large pools. Swim up bars are Excellent. Only down side is the air conditioning not working properly in 1 of 3 of our rooms. All in all, I would definitely go back. Do the Sharkys Catamaran Tour!!!!!

We had a great experience overall. The cleaning staff and some of the other staff were kind and welcoming. My husband and I did not like the food options. We are from the Dominican Republic and the food that was served was not an authentic food choices from the Dominican Republic. Over all we had a great experience with the tours and excursions.

Lo q no me gustó el mal olor a pozo séptico q tenía la habitación y el baño se llevó la queja y se tardaron 2 días para cambiarme d habitación la Sra. Elizabeth intentó ayudarme pero sus jefes no se lo permitieron pero por lo demás me encantó no me quería ir

Me gusto el ambiente de los meseros las actividades no me gusto los baños de las habitaciones los labamanos no bajaba el agua y las duchas

Al llegar al check-in nuestra habitación no estaba lista, nos enviaron a comer y cuando regresamos no dieron habitación de dos camas, cuando especificamos que era de una cama matrimonial, su contestación fue que eso lo que había. Nos cambiaron la habitación al segundo día, la ducha tapada, el inodoro no bajaba, el elevador del edificio dañado y era un 3er piso. Nadie nos dirigió a nuestro cuarto o por lo menos nos indicó, también cargamos nuestras maletas en varias ocasiones por todo el hotel prácticamente, por los cambios que ocurrieron. Nada o poca atención y limpieza. También mencionó lo bueno, tuvimos un buen servicio en el restaurante La Altagracia y su personal; buena comida para elegir, y las actividades muy agradables, pero en la cuestión de atención al huésped de parte de la recepción es 0.

The Resort is a beautiful one. The food was great, The staff were very friendly. I think they should have more staff checking around the resort so you don’t see the plates with leftover food or empty cups around that people leaves in the hallways or on top of trash cans. Kudos to

Dinner is basically from 6pm-8pm, after that, its hot dogs, hamburgers, and movie theater nachos (but heads up, the meat tastes funny). Went to check out and she told us its another $20 charge if we do not bring the pool towels back. This is after my roommate and i went days without getting those towels because they were all out (by 11 am). I went back to the room to grab the towel and the cleaning lady had already thrown it in the hamper. I had to grab it out of a dirty hamper to avoid another charge. Staff was very kind, music was cool. Definitely a party resort. Do not come for chill vibes or great food.
