Charming hotel in the center of Cirencester with friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side but have everything you need. Note that there is no A/C but there was a fan in my room that kept things pleasantly cool. There is no lift so rooms may not be accessible for everyone (but they can help you carry your suitcases to the room). The bathroom has lovely amenities (White Linen) but be careful getting into/out of the tub as it can be slippery. Breakfast is available in the dining room with multiple tasty hot options and a nice cold buffet with cereal, juice, yogurt, fruit and pastries. Coffee & tea are also available in the rooms. (I suggest making coffee in your room since the coffee served in the dining room is mediocre; this was really the only negative of the stay). We had dinner one night in the pub/restaurant and it was very good with plentiful vegetarian options.

With the hotel sprawling over three houses of different builds and levels there is plenty of character and to get to our room no.14 meant crossing all three houses and manoeuvring over 25 steps, some up, and then a few down again, but it was great fun, and this reviewer is 80.

The staff, location and breakfast was very good. The bed was not comfortable at all. The weather was very hot and the room was not prepared for that. We couldn't open the window as it was a first floor and was noisy outside.

We were expecting a great experience, as it said it was a five star hotel on Expedia. It definitely did not feel like a 5 star hotel. The check in staff was rude, the sheets & pillows had stains & tears and it was very loud in our room from the restaurant downstairs as well as from other rooms. We would stay elsewhere if we visit Cirencester again.

Unfortunately luxury king bed room we had booked had problems with heating and the hot water so it was too cold to stay in, so we had to be downgraded to a compact double room, nice and warm by comparison, but the bathroom was through a door and down a few steps somewhat of an inconvenience by choice, evening meal although was lovely and plenty of choice for breakfast all cooked superbly so overall not a complete disaster

Lovely overall but attention to detail lacking with the cleanliness such as dust on radiators, extractor fan in bathroom dirty, skirting boards and inside window sills. Not wanting to blame the cleaner but maybe not given enough time to do it properly?

Hotel was a great location and the bar was great. Breakfast was nice but the full English could be bigger, you get one of everything, 1 egg, 1 hash brown etc…
What let the hotel down for us was the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was dated and unclean, the shower needed a good scrub and the kettle, coffee machine etc in the room were covered in dust. I asked about another room but they were fully booked so this was not available.
It’s a lovely hotel but the bathroom needs updating and a good clean, this is is pretty basic.

Both restaurant and bar staff needed more training ( they were not familiar with names of drinks or liquor coffees.
3 main courses were not available on the evening we stayed and we were not advised of this untill after having made our choice, so it was very disappointing as this was meant to be a special occasion plus there was very little to choose from, so bad communication amongst staff.

It’s a lovely hotel but the bathroom needs updating and a good clean, this is is pretty basic.
