very convenient for tourists who love the view of the sea and want to find peace of mind. Room conditions remains intact even looks a bit old. Structures and sculptures whole resort still retains the old Malay house concept. Employees here are very friendly and helpful whenever we have any questions. It is a luxury resort and can be categorized exclusively. Room rates are quite expensive but the facilities provided at par with the prices offered. Customer service and good food prepared well here.

Both relaxing and a little bit strange
Me and my friend booked 4 nights at this hotel to relax a few days at the beautiful eastcoast of Malaysia. At first I have to say this Hotel is really out of the way. There is almost nothing around, only a petrol station at a main street 15 minutes away. The Resort itself is actually very beautiful, nice garden, pool, restaurant, friendly stuff and a private beach. But all of this is a little bit shabby, it looks like that there have never been guests for years. We also were one of the little guests. And when it got dark in the evening we honesty felt a little bit scary... But the rooms were big and clean, and the meals at the restaurant were great, even if all of this is a little bit expensive I think. The beach is actually very beautiful, but as I sayed its shabby and there were just 2 broken sun loungers. So my result is that it can be really beautiful when they renovate their hotel.

Upgrade but keep your charm- We will come back
I have just returned from a 10 day stay with my husband at the Aryani and had a much needed relaxing break. The management and staff were friendly and helpful regardless of the lack of facilities the hotel once had. The hotel uses the same taxi driver and when he took us to the boat for a days snorkelling on one of the islands he stopped and bought us a loaf of bread so as to hand feed the fishes. Receiving a present on our last day. These are the things you remember that help make a holiday. There were a variety of choices on the menu in the restaurant and we tried several and all were good. We became addicted to the lovely lemongrass tea they served. We had these daily whilst sitting around the pool. If you are looking for a relaxing break this is it but nightlife and noise somewhere will suit. Having read all the negative remarks in relation to the resort I can agree with some comments but staying for one night does not justify some of the comments made. Cats? We saw one cat our entire stay and never saw it jump on any of the tables in the dining room or outside. Neither did we see flies all near the food (in fact I see more flies living in Australia). The hotel is not just run by 2 or 3 staff. No children's activities to relieve a tired mother? I don't remember an advert saying there were children's activities. The hotel has been badly letdown by the "Royale Bintang Resorts & Hotel Group" who failed grossly in maintaining the complex and falsely advertised the facilities on the fb page etc. We did learn on our last day, that the resort now has new owners and will close shortly for a year whilst having a full upgrade. We look forward to returning in 2016 & see the friendly faces and new facilities but with the Malaysian charm that it holds.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Misleading advertising!!
Where to start? A hotel right out of a horror movie: As others have mentioned over the years (!!), this place represents an abandoned property charging out-of-this-world prices in return for (almost) nothing! We stayed for one night due to the lack of better options in the area and before jetting over to the island of Lang Tengah the next morning! This was the one (among many that truly deserved the name) "luxury resort" we stayed in on our trip involving teenagers where they were actually packed up and ready to leave ON TIME the next morning! If that isn't a sign... Arrived to be greeted by a very sweet and smiling receptionist who right away gave us the impression as if she was in over her head and almost wanted to slip us a note saying: "Leave now while you can!" Received welcome drink/food combo served by an "assistant". None of us enjoyed the food, but that might be a matter of like/dislike. The roaming cats didn't seem to mind, though, finishing our leftovers in no time. Checked into our good-size rooms with no assistance offerred for the bags. Rooms are super basic and might still please some backpackers with low expectations out there. Style and decor is nice, but everything is soooo worn out, you wonder when was the last time anyone did anything to upgrade the rooms? I guess the answer is when it was built (late 1990s according to the receptionist). The same applies to all the facilities, by the way. Relying on some of the promises made by management ("rest assured we'll fix...") over the years in response to claims other travelers have made, we thought we might find e.g. the beach bar or spa to operate again or some safe beach lounge chairs being available, but no, everything is still in the very same old poor if not dangerous state it was found in years ago! We definitely found ourselves cheated by the management and owners of the "Royale Bintang Resorts & Hotels Group". I guess the owners find chauffeuring their Bentleys and Ferraris around KL more appealing than taking ownership of their "Jewel of the East Coast"). Uh, hello? "Service" in restaurant (let's welcome back our friendly receptionist as our waitress) did not exist besides bringing out food with a one hour delay. Quality of dinner food was OK (ordered fried rice and mee dish). All the other resort guests (about 4-5 tables) went through the same dinner experience, while some of us made the unfriendly encounter of the resident cats who'd jump up on the tables to get their share of the local food. Staff did nothing to control the situation, but how could they? Our helpful receptionist was probably preparing the dishes in the kitchen!! Breakfast was shockingly disgusting with flies all over and presented in "youth hostel buffet"-style. We couldn't get away from this place fast enough and - for a moment - thought about leaving without paying but then felt bad for the - once again - lovely receptionist and assistant who always put on a smile for us no matter how awkward or desperate the situation. To close out on a somewhat positive note, the beach is nearly empty and the water generally nice for what we witnessed on the one evening we were there. Definitely beat the "resort" pool. However, be aware of and expect rubbish littering the beach and many other public spots in the area. No one seems to mind... Really, really sad and if not addressed on many levels will lead to tourists avoiding this otherwise beautiful part of the world. I've travelled throughout Malaysia extensively over the last 25 years but I'm sad to say that this was one of my worst hotel experiences thus far. One last comment on the few 4 and 5-star reviews that some folks still leave. These must either be bought or those people have NO expectations or comparison whatsoever. Just sayin'...

Just Awful !
I am not sure where to begin. Let me begin by saying the actual staff at the Aryani are more than amazing. They tried - they really did but there is not much that can be done to a ruin waiting to collapse. The reason the Aryani is still in business is because the options are limited in this remote area of Kuala Trengganu. But in all fairness the hotel should be closed. We had two rooms booked - the rooms were terrible. They were moldy smelling and I was afraid to sleep in the bed as I was not sure what bugs might sleep with me. The bathroom was basic. More of a youth hostel standard. The kids room had a bee's nest in the bathroom and they were afraid to use the toilet at night as they were not sure what else would come at them. The so called "outside" bathroom is a joke. The bathtub looks like it has not been used in years and in all honesty I would not have sat in it if you had paid me to. We saw the staff scramble and try hard but you cannot run a hotel on 2 or 3 staff members. We waited an hour for dinner - when it arrived it was not worth the wait but we had no choice to eat anywhere else as it is remote. The cats jumped on tables and it was disgusting. The breakfast the next day was awful - we managed to eat some toast with butter. There were flies everywhere near the food and we were not able to drink the brown water called coffee. The beach is beautiful. The hotel has tremendous potential but there is not a single penny being invested in it. It is there to bring in the last few dollars and then rot. The beach chairs are near collapse and my husband almost fell through the wooden planks at the deserted bar which should be torn down as it is a hazard. It is so sad to see the management of this resort - http://www.royale-bintang-hotel.com.my/corporate/index.html just lie to people about the fact they are working on renovations and making it better. They are NOT. It is complete fraud and the pictures on their brochure and website are nothing that portrays what the Aryani really looks like or what state it is in. Between us we called it Bates Motel as it was creepy and lonely and looked lost and deserted. The Aryani should be shut down and they need to spend some hard cash renovating it or they need to close it down forever.
