if you would like to experience something extra special while in Pluit, please do yourself a favour, drink selection needs to be admired, service appreciated and the food will make you melt.

Restoran ini sudah ada sekitar 2 generasi ke belakang. Ada beragam menu chinese food dan rata rata makanannya berporsi besar dan rasanya enak. Salah satu menu andalannya adalah mun tahu.

I visit the one in Citra 6 branch that is just open for several months. The place was small and have some queue on dine time. The foods were satisfying. I love the ngohyong and the fish. Remind me of the old time homey chinese food. The owner were there on busy hour and so kind.

Absolutely thr place to go for that old, humble, unglamorous chinese food. Things to try: Lindung Fumak (Eel with vegie), Yam-ha (steamed salty shrimp), Pare cah sapi (bitter gourd with beef), Gurami tahu taosi (fish with tofu), and Ayam garam (steamed salty chicken).

Siauw A Tjiap has been around for probably more than 40-50 years from its humble beginning in Chinatown area. The food is considered as old fashioned chinese food - Indonesian style. Higly recommended

Another classic hakka cuisine that has been around since i can remember. Their taste varies from one restaurant to the other though. The one in pancoran is best. Fried eel, the fish with tofu and black bean sauce is a must.

This restaurant claims to have been opened way back in 1923 & has a few branches now. Unfortunately for the Pluit branch, it seems stuck in the past in terms of service & food; decor has been renovated but place still feels tired. We recently visited after many years' absence & was struck that the same manager was still behind the cashier & many of the same servers; what was interesting was none seemed to have aged but all still look like they've been there since the restaurant's beginnings. Unfortunately, the service was also stuck in the past but the food quality has dropped; here's a sample of our recent visit: 1. Hair found in soup 2. Ant found in juice 3. Vegetarian fried rice order took 10-15 minutes & when it arrived had chicken & seafood 4. Another 15 minutes passed before the so-called manager & server told us the restaurant ran out of rice, after frequent inquiries (imagine a restaurant in Jakarta running out of rice!) 5. After some arguments, suddenly rice became available & a new vegetarian fried rice arrived (by which point appetite was lost already) 6. Take-away plastic bag ripped, spilling much of the food onto the parking lot Despite all this, there was no change to the bill at all, neither a complimentary dish or discounts offered (they did manage to apologize though). We promptly told the "manager" (who didn't look like he was in charge as being worked by his staffs) & the servers they can be assured we won't be returning any longer.
