InterContinental Hotels MELBOURNE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Rooms are small and furniture & fixtures worn out. Breakfast spread was very disappointing. Only good about this hotel is friendly service and location.

Great facilities in the heart of Melbourne

The room cleaning wasn’t very good, we stayed 7nights in the hotel and the room is dusty everyday even after the house keeping. The shower and pipe was old needed updates.

Nice hotel. Good bed and the room was clean and well maintained. Our booking included breakfast and parking. I spoke to the hotel a couple of weeks before our stay to organise an early check in and find out about the parking. Early check in could not be guaranteed and we were informed that entry to parking was at rear of the hotel. This information was incorrect and we ended up in the wrong carpark and had to move the car and pay $17 as a result. Once I had the correct parking ticket, the hotel validated it but it didn’t work. This cost a further $30 to exit the carpark. Other areas of concern- pool and spa did not appear clean. There was a strange smell like the chemical balance/chlorine was not right. Breakfast offered a good variety but none of the “hot food” was in fact hot. Very disappointing and we ended up cutting breakfast short and found a cafe outside the hotel for brunch. Overall, this stay was quite expensive and very disappointing. I would not stay here again as there are plenty of better options in the city and Southbank/Crown Casino precinct.

They double charged us The place is beautiful But staff did not resolve the issue of double charging

Indoor pool but water was cold and not monitored by staff .

The place is nice Staff nice Nice room But the bedding was way too hot and when checking out another customer was also complaining about the bedding and duvet being way too hot You want to stay in a nice hotel You pay the nice hotel price But you get a terrible nights sleep because the bedding / duvet is way too hot Disappointing Maybe the manager responsible for the bedding should try sleeping with the duvet they provide - very hot - so we both came away exhausted - not exactly what we had planned !!

Too dark at night especially if the lifts aren’t working which is poor for a 5 star. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and staff very helpful and friendly. Staff handled our complaints professionally and gracefully

Not what I expected

We were quite disappointed with our experience at Alluvial. Our daughter has allergies, and although the service staff was kind and provided the information we needed, the timing of the meals was not ideal. We ordered standard menu items, including our daughter’s meal, and at that point there were only three other groups in the restaurant, with two more arriving after us. However, all of their meals were served before ours. It took around 40 minutes for my wife’s and my meals to arrive, and an additional 10 minutes for our daughter’s. In total, there were just six groups dining. We also overheard another guest expressing concerns about delays with their room service. For a five-star hotel, we had hoped for a smoother dining experience

Staff service was incompetent. Valet service took too long. We booked for a specific time and we were still waiting approx 20 min. Online service didnt work and phoned reception - they had no idea how to take an order. Again took a while to place order. We asked for a specific time and was still half an hour late. Ordering room service, way overpriced for quality of food. Overall service was disappointing.

Would have preferred a decent executive club

Wonderful stay. Enjoyed the hospitality. Breakfast is awesome. Centrally located with city Trams. Only issue is the doors particularly to the bathrooms sometimes get stuck and make it difficult to use.

Not much food selection which was ordinary. I had a cleaner enter the room whilst I was in the bathroom. Asked them to leave as I wasn’t comfortable with them being in my room. They kept say they will just be a minute, until I ended up yelling through the door to get out.

Really enjoyed the stay there. Great location and easy access to public transport. Very comfortable bed which made the night outside my cozy home so much easier. Friendly staff and good buffet breakfast with amazing view of the building from inside.

We were disappointed with the pool which was too cold to swim in for us. The spa needed to be refilled as the jets weren’t under water.

The staff were excellent ,can’t fault anything
