Overpriced and surrounded by nightclubs
I'm so flustered just thinking about my stay here that I don't even know where to begin. I have lived in Chiang Mai a long time, and have never had an experience like this one.
First off, I will say that the building is located in a prime area, the space is large and has a nice view of Doi Suthep.
Unfortunately, that means it got the blaring music from HOBS and Warm Up Cafe blasting in the closed windows alllll nightttt longgggg....not to mention the 2 bars located directly beside it. Music, racing tuktuks at 2am and even strobe lights on occasion would penetrate the sound of the apartment and keep me awake until all hours of the night. When I complained about the noice, they shrugged off my concern and said "it only lasts until midnight".
The furniture was laughable. The kitchen table was nonfunctional as the chairs were designed in a pie-shape manner. They also couldn't take much weight. I'm a fairly small individual and it felt like they would collapse below me.
The "couch" was no better. It was a vinyl futon that was very tiny.
The "king size" bed was in fact 2 twin beds pushed together, so sleeping for 2 is out of the question as the beds had a tendency of separating.
Finally, what really annoyed me was that in the one month I rented there, I barely spent 10 stays yet the electricity bill came to nearly 3000B. To put that in perspective, I lived in a similar sized apartment, ran the A/C day and night nearly every day and my bill only came to 1500B. On top of that I had to pay an additional 1000B cleaning fee even though when I moved in, the place definitely did not appear to be clean.
Very disappointed and feel a little ripped off.
I rented because I came before Songkran and most other options were unavailable. I would definitely not recommend this building and suggest looking for something better if you have the time.
