New Barcavela

Do not stay at New Barcavela under any circumstance. We booked this hotel for our honeymoon, and it completely ruined our trip. The property is severely unhygienic and heavily infested with cockroaches; we found them crawling in the bathroom, making the space entirely unusable. Furthermore, the hotel is a consumer scam. They advertise a "private beach" on booking platforms but hide a mandatory €30/day fee per beach bed. The room itself was a disaster: tiny, filthy, lacking basic amenities like soap and conditioner, and the AC was placed in a position where it completely failed to cool the main living space. It was also located directly across from the housekeeping station, causing constant, unceasing noise. Worse than the terrible conditions was the hostile management. When we politely attempted to complain about the room discrepancies and the infestation, the manager and owner launched an aggressive verbal attack against us. The owner physically intimidated us, entering our personal space and yelling so aggressively that he reduced my spouse to tears. We felt completely unsafe and had to vacate the property immediately. To top it all off, they completely refused to issue a refund for the remaining nights we did not stay, keeping our money for services they never safely rendered. This place is unsafe, unhygienic, and run by abusive management. Save your money and your safety—stay anywhere else.
