My wife and I booked in advance and immediately received a response to say that the hotel was undergoing new construction works, therefore we had to use facilities at their sister hotels. I responded straightaway asking to be moved to one of their sister hotels, but received no further response. On arrival, we spent a lot of time with the staff management to secure a room with a shower (not a bath). We were initially told that we would have to move on the second night into a room with a bath because the room that we got for the first night was booked for another guest on our second night. The next morning, the management kindly let us continue to stay in the same room with a shower. At least, the management did help to meet our needs (we are both in our 70s and a bath presents safety risks, slipping and falling). The hotel itself is first class. No doubt, when construction is completed, the hotel would be outstanding, only second to Fairmont Lodge. In general, the hotel is well maintained, clean, and very helpful staff. They even arranged a revised time for our boat cruise on Lake Maligne promptly.

The hotel is going through renovation, once it is completed, the property will be a great place to stay. The rooms are brand new with innovative approach and design., beyond the usual outdated concepts. We liked a lot the room and the furniture

Lovely hotel and the soap inside was Rocky soap, we found the storefront in Banff and purchased a whole bunch. There was still construction taking place but it didn’t affect us much.
