Great spot! Would visit again

Don’t be fooled by the location you have to drive through an industrial area but once you get to the lodge it’s over looking the river very peaceful and quiet. You’re only 5 minutes from downtown Golden. Very friendly staff they went above and beyond of being helpful. Our room was a bit small but very clean bedding and towels were new . The lobby was spotless. I would highly recommend the Lodge a Lantern!

The property overlooks the river and mountains which we enjoyed. It was close to restaurants and shopping. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We felt really taken care of. There was a wood burning fireplace in the lobby which we enjoyed as the evenings were cool and the sofas were very comfortable. Spencer is the new owner and has great pride in taking care of his guests. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the room was quiet. There is free parking as well. We stayed 2 nights and would return if we found ourselves in Golden again. Thank you for a great stay.

A very well designed and comfortable place to stay. Not just the room, the lounge area is very beautiful and comfy. And the front desk is quite nice and friendly. BTW, the mountain is great if the weather is good.

From the seamless online check-in and check-out process, I already had a great first impression. The front desk staff was also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They should take new photo bc room and hotels looks a lot better than the pictures they posted. And we know that's very rare. As a mom traveling with a child who is extremely sensitive to cleanliness, I can say this with confidence: trust me — the room and bathroom were cleaner than many 5-star hotels I’ve stayed in Canada. Everything felt spotless and very well maintained. The amenities were thoughtfully selected with only the essentials, but that’s exactly what made them feel so practical. Little details like charging ports and multi-outlet access showed that they really understand what travelers actually need. The lobby was cozy, beautifully maintained, and made us feel comfortable right away. Parking was easy, and having the river right in front of the hotel made it perfect for a relaxing walk. If you're heading toward Banff, or heading back to BC I would absolutely recommend staying here.

We had some initial difficulties as they were in the midst of a property upgrade, but the problems were handled professionally and courteously. Overall, we were very satisfied with the property and staff.

The stay was good nice log hotel! Mattress good quality but they charge us almost 50$ for my dog for one night! I think it’s overpriced

This boutique hotel is located in a odd neighbourhood of Golden, away from restaurants and other amenities, and in a semi-industrial part of town. However, if you get a room that faces the river and the mountains, you will have a fantastic view from your room. Our room was facing the opposite direction and although we had a view of the mountains too, we also looked into a industrial warehouse and yard which was not as pituresque. The check-in process was straight-forward and communications were great. The hotel has arrangements with a local café which provided us with room-service breakfast which was unexpected (the cost for this service was OK). We had a peaceful rest and the rooms were quiet.

Excellent hotel, beautiful building , super helpful staff ( had a late check in and they were very accommodating with after hours check in). Very clean room, comfortable bed, stunning room views. 5 out of 5 would stay here again !

Well, the lodge is exactly what I was expecting, beautiful log cabin! However, I would not have booked there if they actually showed other pictures of the surrounding area. It appeared to be at the end of an industrial park, but the park was quiet, no complaints there, it was just eerie. They most definitely need to do some much needed landscaping, and perhaps build a very tall fence to block the view of the trailer park when you sit outside on the back deck, it was an eyesore and took. Away from the log home ambiance. If you are an early riser, make a coffee in your room before you head to the great room. That was very disappointing to me. Tried to sneak out to let my son sleep in, but had to go back up to make a coffee. I personally despise using in room coffee makers. Only had coffee creamers. For a property this beautiful, I think they should have a drip coffee on for guests. They do have pop/chips/choc bars for purchase and a fruit bowl. So, in my opinion…this place is NOT central, you don’t get any extras whatsoever. Over priced for a room to sleep in. Also, no comfortable chairs in rooms to sit and relax. River view and mountain view is 👌 But sorry…I would expect more. The property manager will send you texts, too many for my liking. I like to chill and disconnect when on vacation. This was a tad interrupting.

We stayed at the Lodge and Lantern for one night, and loved our stay. The owner provided excellent service and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Hotel was quiet and the room had an incredible view. Would love to stay again!

Très sympathique hôtel! Les chambres sont petites mais agréables avec une superbe vue sur la rivière et les montagnes. Accueil très chaleureux, bonnes recommandations.

Great room...loved the extra touches like the bathrobes, makeup towel and wireless phone charger. Right on the river too but still in an industrial area. Not walkable into town but we were only there for the night so it wasn't an issue. Good value property. We'll return for sure.

The Lodge and Lantern was in an easy location to find from Hwy 1. We stopped for a night to break up our journey from Banff to Kelowna. There was good size fridge in the room and it's clear the Lodge has recently been refurbished. The room we were in had very bad wifi and we reported it, but unfortunately it did not improve. Due to the poor wifi connection, we weren't able to make the most of the tv in the room which had Netflix etc. The rooms were quite small but the bed was comfortable and there wasa good size fridge. The view from our room was great of the mountains.
