Great hosts and spotless room, a great breakfast and selection.

If you are looking for the best of what a traditional British guesthouse should be, look no further. The room and communal areas are spotless. The towels and linen are fresh and look New. Building is well 19. The refreshments in the room could be no better, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Then we come to breakfast. Perfection. And to top it all exceptionally good value. ospotless

This B&B provides everything you could wish for. Comfortable en-suite rooms and an excellent breakfast. Everything is provided in the rooms despite Expedia stating that in some of the rooms bed linen and towels are not provided. - this is clearly NOT true, as everything we could hope for was there. The owners clearly work hard at providing a very high standard B&B, and succeed. A lovely stay.

My sister and I went to visit Clacton on Sea to relive our childhood. The Chudleigh was lovely, the owners were super friendly, the breakfast was fresh and a lot of options. Our room was number 10, the family room and the beds were so comfortable. The hotel was a 3 minute walk to the pier, with plenty of restaurants nearby. We loved the pier bar and we had chips from Geo's fish bar. Plenty of amusements to go to and we loved the air hockey table. We will be back in the summer so we can enjoy the lovely sandy beach. Everyone we met was very friendly. We had a wonderful time.

Lovely stay clean comfortable parking and lovely breakfast

Everything was perfect, from the smooth checkin, the delicious freshly cooked English breakfast, the fruits looked delicious also. There was a great info pack in the room that gave me some ideas on what to do upon my return which I definitely will do soon! Safety was a big concern to me as a female travelor, I felt very safe both in the hotel and the surrounding area. I also managed to have some lovely conversations with both a guest, the team and the locals! Next time I will take a few pics, place was beautiful, sumptuous carpets and the most beautiful staircase. My room was perfect for both a lil bit of work and a bit of tv watching. Many thanks to The Chudleigh Team

Friendly B & B at a good price with nice quality breakfast and free parking included. Dogs are welcome at a small additional cost, although on this visit in Clacton I could not bring my 2 with me. The decoration is a bit tired, but the place is clean which is the main thing. If was redecorated the prices would be higher, so all things are relative. There a great range of beverages available in the room. I had a small single room on the top floor. There was a noise from the next door room when the shower was being used by an early riser guest, which did wake me as I am a light sleeper. This is to only negative points about my stay, and I would gladly stay here again.

Everything here was done with care, attention and pride. Such generous hosts with really good quality drinks in the room. Breakfast was so good with lovely mixed good quality berries and fruits. Cooked breakfasts were to order. Amazing quality for a budget price.

Charming place with friendly hosts. Wide choice of breakfast options, was very impressed with the fruit selection and cooked to order breakfasts. Room was spotless and well stocked with toiletries and refreshments. Great location, within a short walking distance of the pier and shops.

Will definitely be back again

This is like going to your favorite Aunt’s house to stay. Everything is top notch- from the cleanliness to the friendliness. Carol and Peter will adopt you as their own, even (literally) cooking breakfast to order each morning. I’d come here every weekend if I could!

Hoteliers had provided lots of extra touches. The cleaning was impeccable. The room was well, decorated she had good quality cushions and curtains made to match the paper on the feature wall, nice quality biscuits and tea, sew kit and cottonpads. Wonderful comfy bed and clean shower room. Great selection at breakfast, fresh fruit, raspberry, blueberry, cereals then full English and about 8 various mini jam pots including salted caramel, I had to resist taking them home 1st time I've been to Clacton, was a but scruffy, went onto Point Clear afterwards

A well-run bed and breakfast which provides everything you need. The rooms are spotless and ample sized. The location for the beach and town, is excellent. Breakfast is also brilliant with a wide range to choose from. A very nice place to stay.

Just stayed one night. All very nice and a fantastic breakfast the next morning.

Well situated in town, Very welcoming indeed - Carol and her staff couldn't do enough (nothing was a problem). Room spotlessly clean and airy and cleaned every day. We were only B&B and selection for breakfasts was really good (something to suit everyone). Couldn't fault anything really and would definitely go back.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Chudleigh. As quaint and lovely as the room was, the proprietor, Carol, was even more so. She was so sweet and kind. The room was full of extras at every turn. Everything was amazingly clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was everything you would want in an English breakfast. I highly recommend this stay.

The hotel was marvellous. Owner and staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very clean in fact looked to have been recently refurbished throughout. Parking for a few cars on front. We'd certainly recommend it

It was my first stay at The Chudleigh, the outside of the building is beautiful, inside, the areas are clean and tidy, the owner and all the staff are very welcoming, extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with a very comfy bed, nice furniture and the hotel provided lovely little extras. The breakfast room was lovely and the food absolutely delicious. We had a great stay thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, I would highly recommend the hotel to anybody, we will be returning, I would give it six stars out of five if I could
