Very elegant, spacious and clean hotel room. Our room was facing the lake. Very beautiful view in the moring and when sun set. The hotel resturant is very good. We enjoyed a pleasant dinner there.

Great location Very good staff. The Winander section has its own very helpful staff and breakfast with great views. The room we had was a very spacious and well designed. My only comment was a shaving mirror would have been useful given the distance to the actual mirror. The spa access for hotel Guests was somewhat more limited than expected and the outdoor areas were completely separate and require extra payment. What is left in the swimming pool area is a little bit more limited than similar properties in the area we have tried.

We stayed in Winander Club rooms at Low Wood Spa. We had a beautiful room with bath and wonderful view. The staff were great very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great we had two fab meals in the restaurants the Smoke bay and W. We had two Spa treatments and used the Spa facilities. The only unfortunate experience was that unless you book a day Spa for extra £70 per person you cannot use the Thermal Spa area which was fully booked the whole 4 days were there. Not sure why the use of the Thermal Spa is not available when you pay a premium for the Winander rooms. Other Spas with Thermal area (Eg Hoars Cros I have stayed before don't operate like this which was a shame.

Hotel is very nice but website and booking very misleading.. photos and name suggests spa facilities available for all but hotel guests do not get use of the spa and is actually an addition (which we were totally unaware of). When trying to add the spa to the booking, we were told it was fully booked!! The whole point of a spa resort is to be able to have a spa and relaxing day, if it was made more clear, we would have just booked a standard B&B which would have been a fraction of the cost! We did mention this to staff, but they weren't interested and just got fobbed off. Not welcoming at all, and not helpful or interested.. not be staying here again for sure!

The room was clean as always, stayed here a few times now. This time in the main hotel as we had our dog with us so had a pet friendly room and it was lovely. My only issues around the hotel are the lack of air con in the room and in the W restaurant. I realise this current weather isn’t the norm, but a fan isn’t the greatest. The staff are always fab, and otherwise it was a nice stay. Room was spacious which helped when having our pet Will possibly stay again in future

Absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is lovely, the spa is amazing, definitely worth booking in for the full spa 3 hours, the food is good but to be honest it’s the staff that make it. Such a lovely bunch!

Arrived and there was a lovely man who greeted us in our car. Pointed us in the right direction. Check in was quick & easy & staff lovely & welcoming. Room was lovely. Bigger than we expected. Bed was so comfy! Breakfast was delicious. All fresh & hot & lots of choice! Unfortunately we were unable to get in either of the restaurants as they were fully booked. Booking online before you go is a must! Highly recommend & would definitely book again!

Everything was great and fantastic. The spa was incredible, the staff were lovely, and the hotel’s environment and lake view were beautiful. The only problem was the hotel’s Wi-Fi—it was really weak.

Last minute booking. Hotel is nice overlooking the lake with excellent spa. Dinner was excellent. We stayed in room 3 on the ground floor. There was a musty smell walking down the corridor. The room was clean and spacious and overlooked the lake but a bit tired looking. Most of the staff were very friendly but the girl that checked us in was so unhelpful. We had never stayed here before she just gave us the key and some gingerbread and said straight down the corridor room 3 turn left. Gave us no information on the facilities of the hotel. We did not know you could pay a surcharge and use the outdoor spa area. We didn’t know there were 3 restaurants. She just could have sold the hotel and its facilities much more to us and explained options. If I was to stay here again I would look for a room in the newer block of the hotel and book the extra spa service. I did have a treatment in the spa and it was excellent. Overall a nice hotel but the reception staff are your first point of contact they need to be welcoming friendly and informative.

Beautiful hotel. Tranquil relaxation

We were returning customers to Low wood bay @ the winander club. We were slightly disappointed to see that spa access was no longer included in Winander rooms but it is a beautiful spa, so we paid the extra £140. We were disappointed to find out if you wanted to borrow some slippers for the spa, they were also chargeable now. And on check out I was very shocked to see they were also now charging £12 per day to park your car if you hadn’t booked directly with them. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that has charged you to use their car park, particularly after spending over £1000 on our stay. We left feeling disappointed and will chose to stay at other hotels in the lakes going forward now.

Stayed at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa for 3 nights and honestly… the thermal journey is the only reason I’d come back. Rooms are pretty meh—dated and not the cleanest. We were in room 166 and there were visible spill stains on the wall (not great), but it did have incredible lake views. It was also super convenient being so close to the elevator to take you to the spa. Read the fine print: access to the main pool (with infrared sauna + eucalyptus steam) is limited to 2.5 hours. Family time is early morning, and adults-only is 5:30–8pm, which felt oddly restrictive and honestly a bit like a bait-and-switch. We ended up booking the thermal journey + massage for $400, which is a lot. That said, the spa itself is next level—one of the best I’ve been to. Outdoor hot tubs, multiple saunas… highlights were the wood-fired sauna, salt sauna, indoor whirlpool, and the “Lost in the Clouds” massage (incredible—should’ve gone longer). Food at the hotel is subpar. We couldn’t get into Blue Smoke because I didn’t book in advance but overall options were limited. Breakfast is included (7:30–10am), but it’s the same spread daily and just okay. £12/day for parking. Location is great—about 10 minutes to Ambleside and Grasmere—but you’ll definitely need a car since there aren’t good dining options on-site. If you enjoy walking, there are beautiful hikes and trails right outside the hotel, which was a big plus. Staff was friendly.

Excellent for gf breakfast, spa is one of the best hotel spas I’ve stayed in and all the staff are really friendly. Room dated but view was amazing

The room overlooking the lake was beautiful and the spa was amazing! Just make sure you book the thermal journey with the hotel asap as it gets booked up very quickly and we nearly missed out. The thermal spa journey was by far the best experince.

This hotel is 10/10 the staff the room the restaurant and especially the spa were amazing! we had a very easy check in and our bags bought up to our room. I had notified the hotel it was my boyfriends birthday so we received 3 birthday cards in total from the main hotel W restaurant staff and the spa. We had a lovely relaxing two days stay and will definitely be coming back. Would also like to mention the guest relations manager think his name was Craig but he was amazing and very accommodating when I had a few queries on my bill when checking out.

Beautiful setting and the spa is incredible - plenty of areas,, immaculately clean, fantastic views and exceptional service ! I would highly recommend!!.

Their is nothing to fault this experience the staff the restaurants were fantastic and the spa is by far the best I have ever visited.
