Very attractive boutique hotel and grounds. Beautifully decorated throughout. Celebrated NYE here and the chef and all staff were superb, as was the outstanding food. Thank you Sharron (owner) and Sharon (manager) for all your help and attention to detail.

Fabulous bedroom & bathroom (The Arkwright Suite). Really lovely building, very clean with tasteful decor.
Steak for dinner was excellent, while the beef pie was overcooked and hard. Pudding was gorgeous.
Breakfast was very disappointing - chefs off duty?
Staff were a bit hit and miss and not that friendly.
We'd definately stay again when the gardens are in bloom - just maybe not have the breakfast.

I stayed in the Detwent suite which was absolutely beautiful.
It is incredibly spacious and finished to a high standard.
If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs as you can hear the bar / dining room area

While not noisy as such, there were sounds for much of the night as one or more people continued to work downstairs below us. Given the size of the bedroom I’d have expected a king size bed rather than a standard double. No bottled water and no tissues - Minor points but for this price I’d have expected it.

Warm welcome. Lovely room in the coach house - spotlessly clean, warm and with very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the food was very good with friendly and prompt service.

The room was large and very comfortable with mix of modern and traditional to suit the old building. The bathroom was spotless and beautiful. We had to be out before breakfast normal serving time. The staff were amazing and spoke to the chef who allowed us to have an earlier breakfast. The porridge was delicious and creamy best I can remember.

The staff were fabulous from first greeting, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I stayed for 3 nights, room was excellent, clean and with good amenities. Food quality of breakfast and dinner was first class, good choice and cooked to order. Portion sizes were huge!
Despite being here on business the hotel is well placed and very relaxing. Overall excellent thank you!
