Liked: the sampling breakfast. Some continental items served first with cooked English breakfast after. No buffet is good. Disliked. No lift. 42 stairs to my room (10).

Fantastic location next to the cathedral with grounds and parking. It's a beautiful very old building but some of the decor is tired. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a set menu served in two parts, first part is continental style which was lovely, the second part was more traditional English breakfast which had real potential however it was spoiled as the sausage was overcooked and dry, but the bacon was murdered and just shattered as it was extremely overdone, inedible really. We stayed two nights and the bacon was the same each morning! just not to my liking. Hawkstone beer was very good though. Our room was large with a nice view of the rear garden, the water was hot, tea & coffee facilities were good, bed was comfy, decor a little tired. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value.

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay at the Old Deanery. Incredible location for the Cathedral, Hornblower, etc. My room looked directly onto the Cathedrà and was such a treat. Lovely comfy bed and the room was spotless. Delightful staff, who couldn’t do enough for you. Special shout out for Tom, who is just the nicest chap, but everyone was wonderful. The most beautiful breakfast with homemade breads and granola plus a fresh home cooked breakfast. I will absolutely be coming back again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Deanery. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and we loved the attention to detail. All the staff were very helpful and obviously enjoyed working at the hotel. We also liked the location and ease of parking. We will definitely recommend The Old Deanery to our friends.

Fantastic breakfast using only quality ingredients, best smoked salmon I’ve ever had. Had the taster menu one evening, never before have I tasted such wonderful food, chef Adam is a master of the culinary art.

Breakfast beautiful. Easy parking

The Old Deanery is brilliant if you appreciate a sense of the historic! The rooms are full of charm and character and the staff were excellent. The 'Tasting menu' is a delight on the taste buds and well worth every penny! As is the breakfast which is a wonderful way to start the day. It is situated over the road from the beautiful Cathedral in the heart of the ancient city of Ripon and well worth the opportunity to forget about the car and explore the city on foot. Well worth the money.

Parking good breakfast food could not eat smoked bacon to hard mushrooms dont like tried dont like smoked salmon on morning and parma ham no toast tried to be too fancy lots people left breakfast.

Tight but doable.

The parking was amazing and we were able to check-in early, situated within a minutes walk of the cathedral and shops were located very near. The facilities were brilliant and the staff were so helpful. Breakfast was out of this world. If you get the chance you must pay this place a visit the whole experience was magnificent.

The parking was very easily accessible and was perfectly adequate for the number of rooms in the property. The evening meal was fantastic and the breakfast was extremely good with a very helpful and professional team. I would definitely recommend a stay or a meal here.

Our room (11) was very disappointing. What we expected (based on website pictures): Beautiful opulent rooms, with period furnishings, roll top bath and a lovely warm atmosphere. What we got: A student common room with a bed, a shower room - no bath and a shower that didn't work properly. However, on the plus side the restaurant food was exquisite.

Fantastic place, from the staff, the hotel itself or the amazing breakfast, I’d highly recommend.
