Old World Charm. The cottage style single rooms were gorgeous. Staff were so friendly and helpful. It was the hottest few days of the year but they remained cool and calm. The food was excellent. Couldn't recommend it enough. Looking forward to being able to go back again.

This quirky old inn has lovely bones and great potential to be excellent, but it needs a little bit of a makeover. Rooms are clean and perfectly well-appointed, but dated. The shared areas are really nicely designed - pretty and cosy snug room for the winter, and a super fireplace in one of the 3 dining sections, plus several indoor and outdoor areas well-suited to warm weather. The outside space is large and the garden could be beautiful, but there are several forgotten pots and planters which could do with some lovely plants in them, as could the garden, which has nice established plants, but need some colour. Service was friendly, but staff seemed quite stretched. Food was decent, though I would have liked two eggs with my breakfast. The continental selection is perfectly good. The one issue I did have was with the wines. We asked to try a wine and were told that they do not offer tastings. I would have happily paid to try a wine, but in the end we had no fewer than five different wines by the glass, and they were all really dreadful. They were also very cheap, and I would happily have paid more for better wine. We did wonder if perhaps they had been left out in the hot weather – as it seems unlikely that someone would choose so many bad wines to offer by the glass! All in all, the hotel is nicely situated, in a beautiful area, and it is perfectly good for the price. It would be lovely to see it refurbished, however.

Staff were excellent but there was dust in our room and the bathroom was not very clean. A dirty towel had been left outside the door and the hedge adjacent to our room was overgrown and restricted access. Dinner I'm afraid was not good, I ordered a fillet steak and asked for new potatoes as I was on a low fat diet. When it arrived I had new potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms covered in oil and two burnt onion ring! But my husband said his dessert was delicious. Breakfast was help yourself and included in the price - a good selection.

Everything at the hotel except for a little bit of dust and cobwebs which let it down, I’m sure it was just overlooked on the day,the staff were very friendly and helpful, the position of the hotel was great in easy reach of everywhere, great place to explore the area. Would definitely come again

Rooms are good in a retro style-warm comfy bed / excellent chefs special curry - good value overall Coca Cola is very expensive for a micro bottle. £8.55 a pint

The quality of the mattress was poor and not up to hotel quality this must the hotels first priority. Bar closed at 10:00 and not 11:00 even for residents

Clean room, nice people. Only criticism was the poor WiFi in the room

Room was very dusty and was hot as sauna . Tv remote extremely dirty/sticky . No bottled water . Shower blocked . Toilet flush button broken . Food very expensive and not tasty . You have to pay service charge !!!! As a guest !!!Shame

The staff are tremendous. There were three issues, I had to wait 40 minutes for a dinner slot. I was told I need a reservation and booked 7:30pm and was taken to my table at 8:10pm. I had to wait 10 minutes at reception to pick up my key on night two, as my room payment had not been recorded at reception. There was alot of mould around the edge of the bath which I discreetly reported on my first night which was not cleaned up. However the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Nice quite hotel with friendly staff. Just make sure you understand that the taps in the rooms are Thermostatic, that is the left controls the flow and the right controls the heat. There is a little sign on the mirror but....

Very easy early check in with luggage to be delivered to room when ready. Unfortunately message not passed on so with late arrival at 10.15pm and desk closed unable to access luggage and medications etc, and no response to telephone call as unstaffed after 10pm. Bar closed too. Room very comfortable and good continental breakfast. Very comfortable country hotel.

The staff was not respectful. They do not treat everyone equally.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The first night I stayed I didn’t sleep at all as the bed’s mattress was either broken or extremely old. The owner did allow us to change rooms for the second night’s stay and the bed was fine. I would definitely not rate this hotel 4 star as the rooms are so outdated and old. This is a 3 star hotel. I also think for the price they charge that a cooked breakfast should be included not an extra expense.

Room was above kitchen, so from morning till late ventilator noices. And terrible view. Had they warned me for this I had chosen another room.

Really lovely stay very rustic hence why we picked it, bathroom was a lovely size bed was comfortable, staff are amazing and friendly and the breakfasts was lovely.

Dated and drab building, room small, drab and outrageously over priced.

A well presented country Inn in secluded location. Excellent large room ( Oak) a very relaxing stay.
