Solo female traveller staying one night in June. Couldn’t have been more perfect. Staff attentive, food exceptional and location setting and amenities very special. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel, second time staying for one night, breakfast included, evening meal have to book separately which was easy to do. Everything about this hotel, location, availability of rooms, staff and food was truly amazing. We will be booking again, probably near Christmas time.

The whole team were friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend

Wonderful overnight stay with our springer spaniel . Lovely clean and spacious dog friendly room in the Annex with a fabulous view . Set in wonderful grounds with lovely outdoor areas and enjoyed a great circular walk down to the river. All staff were so friendly and the steak for the evening meal was cooked perfectly as was the very generous breakfast . Definitely be back

Beautiful hotel full of character, warm and welcoming with exceptional staff who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect. Food was very good & the wedding we attended there was perfect. My only comment worth making is ensure you book the room you require as the standard double is very bland compared to the other rooms which are luxurious…. Giving them a call to book directly is a must as they may have special deals which are very generous. I would definitely recommend staying here & would love to return one day.

Room was very warm and no air con, however, a pleasant stay.

What a fantastic place. Great food, great staff, excellent room. lots of parking, very accessible and easy to find.

This is a stunning building in gorgeous surroundings. Unfortunately for me the interior decor badly lets it down as it is faded and very dated. The owners really need to capitalise on the history of the building and decorate in a sympathetic way. The harsh 80s style lighting in particular needs a complete overhaul. Having said that, it is clean and comfortable and the staff are cery friendly and helpful and I would recommend it for an overnight stay.

Lovley hotel in beautiful grounds. Lodges were nice also. Clean and tidy. Friendly helpfull staff. Breakfast was excellent.

Was in the annex building which was ok . Shame not in the main hotel this wasnt clear

Check-in was easy, but i have very obvious disability and mobility issues, but we were given a room at the furthest end of the property. I would have thought, when meeting me, that maybe these issues would have promped them to offer a more conveniently placed room. The stairs were very difficult for me to manage. Although the room was really nice, with a beautiful, large bathromm, i would have expected a fridge as standard and maybe a small table to use when sirting on the sofa. I had to put my drinks on the windowsill which appeared freshly painted, as my cup stuck slightly to the paint, which is a shame. The evening meal was fine and the young barman/waiter couldn't do enough to make me comfortable, as i had a very painful hip. Buffet breakfast was quite good and the chef was very helpful in guiding me through the options and carrying my plate for me as i have a severe visual impairment. We wre staying there on out wedding anniversary as we married at Stirk House 15 years ago and all-in-all, we did enjoy our stay, apart from the issues I've mentioned.
