A beautiful ancient building dating back to medieval times and with associations with historical events. Parking at a public car park some 500 metres away- free from 9-10 am with ticket but you have to pay after that. A basic continental breakfast is provided and tea and coffee in the room. Very close to beaches in Bude. We enjoyed our stay but must confess en suite facilities and a TV in the room would have made it better. Good value for money.

I liked it was a 13th century property because it has a lot of history. Staff were not visible and liquid soap was not replaced for three days in shared toilet. The young bar tender was pleasant and the kitchen was do it yourself catering. So no breakfast served. Cereals, milk and other loose foods were available though this aspect was not clearly communicated from the start. One bathroom had a power shower which was handy, due to the lack of rain I didn't want to use the baths.

Really great stay, friendly host and very accommodating. Coffee at breakfast was incredible. Watched the World Cup final in the pub downstairs which was lovely all round - big recommendation

It was a nice accommodation. Not very superb but not too bad as well.

Breakfast was awful. Continental, it had no fruit, no yogurt, cheap juice and the bread was unedable, it was rock hard, and had been left out for quite possibly days. It was on the kitchen sideboard the the day we arrived, and still there the morning after. Simply unable to cut it, let alone eat it. It was very disappointing. Also, no fan provided in the room.

A great place to visit. The Tree is a historical treasure an it is a privilage to stay there.

This is the most delightful place I have stayed in quite sometime. I highly recommend and would suggest you find the merits for yourselves.

Lovely old coaching inn. Has seen better days, but the bed and pillows were so comfortable.

It's misleading to say you provide breakfast when the only breakfast is make it yourself. The only thing on offer was stale cereals and bread that I had to cut the mould off. The toilet doesn't flush properly and the shower doesn't drain properly but it was a good shower. There was no food available in the restaurant. It also states it provides parking. It doesn't.

Nice clean room. Nice large comfortable shower. Well equipped kitchen. Host welcoming and very helpful. Close to local convenient store/post office.

Strange vibe, very unwelcoming, sound from room next door all night of man speaking and could hear in snoring so loud, listed as breakfast but just a poorly equipped table of cereals and a super grubby kitchen that looked like some gross students lived there. Strangest thing was a man in the living area int he morning with his shirt off and a urine bag showing under is shorts, making a fry up in the grubby kitchen using all sorts of ingredients that he'd stored in the seemingly disgusting communal fridge. I'm not sure what the vibe is here but I think he lived here rather than staying. I made an instant coffee, skipped, breakfast and a morning shower and got out of there as soon a I could. Also no parking, it's in a car park on the other end of town that was full when I arrived so I parked on the street the other side of the other end of town. When I arrived I was greeted by a young lad who seemed nice enough but he didn't know what he was doing, and I heard him get barked at by a senior member of staff who was so rude and condescending to him, no need to treat him like that. Whatever you do, please don't stay here, it's super cheap but really not worth saving the cash.

I arrived pretty late and Gem greeted me with kindness and warmth. She showed me where everything was. Room was clean and tidy, the shared bathroom was clean. Overall stay was good. Free parking small walk away and not far to drive into town or to the beach. Would stay again

It's a beautiful old place, if you are expecting luxury then it's not going to float your boat. It's very relaxed and the bar is well stocked. Simon and his staff are great and I was made to feel very welcome, booking taxis etc was all done with a genuine smile not a corporate one. Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and a really comfortable bed. Let's face it, the place is nearly 400 years old and it oozes character. I'd happily stay again

Lovely place to stay. Unfortunately due to the age of the building and plumbing, it was a shared toilet and separate shower room. Hosts were lovely people.
