Great stay

Always a lovely stay.

We had a lovely one night stay here. It is a cosy period property with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We also ate dinner and it was exceptional! Our double room was nicely decorated and comfortable. It wasn't very large but perfectly adequate in size and also what you would expect from a period property. The stairs to the rooms are steep, quite narrow and winding so could be tricky if you have restricted mobility but were absolutely fine for us. The staff were welcoming and helpful and gave us a delicious complimentary breakfast despite us not having paid for it, as there was a bit of a booking confusion. Definitely recommend for a comfortable stay in Woodstock.

Nice room. Friendly staff. Rate included breakfast, but breakfast starts FAR too late to be of use for anyone staying here on business.

Nice bedroom if not a little small however the stairs and approach to the rooms needs a facelift. Great pub in the heart of Woodstock. Lovely staff.

Fantastic pub and extremely friendly staff. Lots of locals which is always one of the best signs of a good spot! Classy but still very relaxed and great pub atmosphere. Had beverages that only the good places have

Other reviewers have mentioned room number 5, which is where I stayed. It’s in the attic. The room was very clean but hot to the point of being unbearable. There was a very inadequate portable air conditioner. With temperatures in the high 20s it’s really important to invest in good appliances and the air conditioner did nothing to lower the room temperature. The fridge was empty, no water supplied until a member of staff came up to sort a minor problem with the shower and a bottle of water and ice was brought up when he realised how hot the room was. The shower attachment was loose so the water sprayed out and the taps in the sink were loose. Not a great experience overall.

Nice stay very very warm in the rooms. If it’s a quiet room you are after this isn’t the place when you are on the beer garden side. A nice problem to have in summer!

I would really recommend this pub for your stay in Oxford. The room I had was decent and the food i ate both in the evening (it has a predominant seafood menu with specials) and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even when they were busy.

Extremely disappointed with our stay due to excessive noise, had to phone dosn after midnight asking it to stop, not a good idea of staff holding a party whilst you have paying guests staying. Particularly chose separate rooms so as to get a good night sleep which we certainty didn't get.

Lovely room... and rating would have been much higher - but there was no hot water at 11pm - no one to contact...and no reply to my email mentioning this.

This property is an old building , and it was perfect. The staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. It was situated perfectly for what we needed.

Staff are very friendly and helpful; Location is perfect for visiting Blenheim Palace; Restaurant serves good food and wine. Parking is an issue here.

Room was in the eaves of the roof. Extremely steep steps with poor headroom. The room & bathroom also was very small with poor headroom. The restaurant was lovely with great food. If there was a nicer more spacious room I would stay again, but not in the room I was in.

Uber fanatics pub and rooms , a real buzz about the place , happy smiling staff and people
