Spent a hot weekend at the hotel am markt. The hotel is in a perfect location, near all the sights in the charming town of Bacharach, Germany. The room had great AC which was perfect as the days were hot and the nights were warm. Our reservation included breakfast as well which had a nice selection of breakfast foods.

Ligging midden in het dorp! Het hotel bestaat uit meerdere aan elkaar gekoppelde gebouwen. Het is verstandig om parkeren te reserveren, zeker als je een kleinere auto hebt, anders is de algemene parkeerplaats iets verder lopen. Een klein supermarktje is een paar deuren verder, handig!

Such a special place! The inn is right in town with plenty of restaurants nearby. It was within walking distance from the train station. The breakfast was lovely, and the owners were warm and welcoming, just like everyone we met in town. For the area, we enjoyed the river cruise, and a two-night stay was perfect for an introduction to incredible Bacharach.

Room was clean. Air conditioning was tolerably adequate. Defects in room - mirror, hairdryer and bin faulty. Manager extremely unwelcoming, no greeting, smile or concern for our satisfaction at all. Breakfast good. Breakfast staff very pleasant.
No evening facilities at all. No restaurant or bar, even though a bar was evident it was never open. We would never have stayed here if it was made clear on the website that there was no restaurant in the evening. Bacharach generally is run down and has seen better days.

If you aren't on the first floor it is a heck of climb up to the rooms. 75 steps if you are on third floor and carrying your luggage. No way to make coffee/tee in room. Breakfast was average. Room was clean.

Bacharach was one of our favorite towns in Germany and this hotel stay was very comfortable. The attic room had great AC during a heat wave, and it was the perfect size for our family of three with a teenage son.

Old country charm, clean rooms, located in the center of town, within walking distance from the train station. The only negative for me was no elevator, only because I brought luggage that was too heavy. Carry on luggage would have been a better choice.

It is pretty basic accommodation and a pretty old building. The family has done a great job renovating it and they keep it beautifully clean. The breakfast area is also well appointed and and the food served was high-quality and fresh. That said, there is no elevator, and we had a room in the tower, which necessitated going up five flights of stairs, carrying our suitcases. We lived, but it was a bit of a hassle. Parking, is outside of the city walls and not convenient though that is not the Hotel‘s fault. The street scene and dining scene in Bacharach is pretty quiet and everything closes down very early. The restaurant right across the street from the hotel serves decent food. The Post hotel with the open courtyard did not. Avoid. Bacharach is definitely worth a stop but would not recommend more than a one night day.
