Kate is fantastic! Her B&B was more than we expected. The room was cozy, the sitting room was warm and inviting, and breakfast was delicious! We hope to go back someday! Thank you again, Kate! We really enjoyed our time staying with you!

After a week on a river boat, we booked a night at Hartley House and thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt right at home and the hostess, Kate was remarkable in how she went above and beyond in order to meet our needs. This is the true Ireland in an old, historic house in a quiet country area. A very memorable stay with a wonderful big breakfast.

Sadly (due to a family issue) we had to cut our 2 day stay, to one, however the one night we spent at HH was excellent. Kate is such a wonderful host who cant do enough for you. It was great to catch up with her at breakfast and she was so forthcoming with info on the local area. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

We were treated like lord and lady in this wonderful country estate by the very warm and welcoming host. The house is full of beautiful furniture and decorations. We had access to a sitting room where the fireplace kept the room warm and comfortable, and we could relax for as long as we liked. The dining room was the site of the breakfasts which were amazing—delicious full Irish breakfasts with plenty of fresh fruits. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Hartley House B&B is a great place to stay in Carrick on Shannon. Clean and comfortable with a hearty breakfast. You can have a good yarn with owner Kate and she can tell you everything about the local area.

Really well kept and beautiful property. I could not fault our stay and the owner is really nice and made us feel at home. The breakfast Is amazing .I would highly recommend staying here.

Hartley House offers a serene country setting off the Shannon river with reasonably easy town access. The house and grounds are charming and nicely restored with period furnishings. The proprietress--Kate--is great and a treasure herself. She is a wonderful host, chef, and baker. A fine Irish experience!

The sky was grey. Storm clouds were gathering and thunder rumbled away in the distance like an afterthought. Suddenly the clouds parted and an individual sunbeam exploded as though shot from a gun. The only thing it hit was Hartley House, an oasis in a desert of tranquility. Or alternatively it was great and the service was world class! Cheers Cate.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the gorgeous and cosy Hartley House B&B in Carrick-on-Shannon for one night while passing through from Dublin on my way to a wedding in County Sligo. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the remarkable host, Kate. Her hospitality is truly exceptional - nothing was too much trouble. Kate's warm personality and engaging conversation made my stay feel like a home away from home, and this radiated into the charm of Hartley House. She went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comforable, providing excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining. The room was beautifully decorated, spotless and comfortable. Carrick-on-Shannon itself, a short journey from Hartley House, is a stunning town rich in character. The picturesque surroundings show that the town is a hidden gem and made me regret my stay was so short. I will definitely be returning to explore more of this town over a longer stay, and of course, to enjoy Kate's unparalleled hospitality once again. Highly recommend Hartley House to anyone visiting the area!

Friendly and knowledgeable host, beautifully appointed home. Some B&B signs along the route would be very helpful. Breakfast was delicious, like eating with family on the best china!
