早餐僅有洋式，口味較普通；溫泉比較燙；老闆與老闆娘很客氣，住宿有提供來回載送至Monkey Park之服務。

从日本回来一周了，回来就开始忙天忙地的工作，直到前两天收到simaya的含有我们当时拍的照片的邮件。 这是第二次去日本 第一次去的北海道 这一次日本之旅最有感触的也还是在汤田中和旅店老板的相处。 我和老公日语英语都不会， 真的要谢谢老板不厌其烦的一直变换不同方式和我们交流， 环境满分， 很传统的日式旅店， 我觉得挺宽敞（相对于日本各种10多平方的酒店） 位置离温泉街大概500米，走路要十分钟。 附近有全家，也有居酒屋这些，但比较少。 嗯...早上老板送了我们去看雪猴， 但其实我本身就是乐山人，峨眉山有很多猴子拉， 去了后猴子没有出来，老板来接到我们后说猴子出来了，让我们去看，但确实是因为我们语言不太通啊哈哈， 没有交流的太顺畅， 老板只好把我们载回旅店，拿着地图再告诉我们：猴子出来了， 你们一定要去看，很棒的。 这又再把我们送过去，（门票可以一天多次进出） 确实也不枉此行， 雪猴很温顺可爱， 也很多， 比峨眉山的温顺多了，值得一去， 然后老板又来把我们接回旅店了。 最后走的那天早上，看我们拖着行李，老板又开车送我们到了车站，老公和我都非常的感谢。 如果不想走太远去泡温泉， 旅店老板有自己的温泉哦， 露天的，要预约 ，可以泡45分钟。价格不记得了，反正不贵。 吃了两天早饭， 一天日式一天西式， 日式的米饭真好吃哈哈哈哈。 希望有机会去到这里的人都去感受一下 很推荐的。 希望下一次有机会的时候再来住，也希望我们两夫妻好好练一下英文哈哈哈。 （边工作边评论有点语无伦次了）总之推荐。

店主非常投入及熱心，服務態度認真，能為客人著想，是一間以服務為主的酒店。

It is a small hotel with small room and hot spring. The owner is nice and willing to provide travel tips. The cleanliness is not on par with other Japan hotels.

Los onzen no eran lo que esperábamos pero de ahí en fuera, todo lo demás muy bueno y muy agradable

Great stay with very friendly staff, the offer free transport to the monkey park and the onsen are great.

Amamos nuestra estadía, el dueño es un señor super amable, super servicial y nos encariñamos de él de lo lindo que es. El Ryokan está padrísimo, en muy buenas condiciones y la ubicación es muy buena. El señor nos llevó en auto al monkey Forest y nos dio muchas recomendaciones para visitar en Nagano. Tiene un muro con billetes de todo el mundo que los inquilinos donan, y él se pone muy contento de recibirlos y los coloca cuidadosemente junto con el nombre de quien lo donó. También tiene dibujos que las personas hacen. Al final de la estadía nos regaló un listón con una moneda 💜

We loved it there. This town is about a 15 minute walk to Shu

建物が古い事はありますが、それ以外はゆっくり、のんびりと宿泊するには良い宿です。

Ichiro, the innkeeper, was very kind and even drove us to the snow money reserve and back free of charge. Nice to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. Highly recommended.

Super friendly host that drives you to the snow monkey park for free and back. Wifi was not working for the entirety of the 3rd floor during my stay.

The manager (owner?) and his wife were incredibly welcoming and pleasant. They take great pride in their hotel and it shows in every aspect of our stay.

This hotel is 6-8 minutes walk from train station at gentle uphill. With a few days notice, you can arrange shuttle pick up. We did not. We stayed two nights in room 402. Room is large and clean with safe and fridge. It has a sitting area and small balcony. Traditional Japanese style room. Note hotel is very old and dated but after initial surprise, we grew to really like it. No elevator. Onsite onsen is very nice. They even have a small private one. Shuttle will drop you at monkey park entrance. We saw lots of monkeys and had at great dinner at Gion restaurant by the train station. In the summer the town is very quiet. Note you cannot visit most of the onsens in Shibu unless you’re staying right in the Shibu town and this hotel is a short walk away in neighboring town. For us the hotel’s onsen was just fine. Simple, affordable breakfast was offered. Would stay again

Superb host offered great advice and dropped us off at the entrance to snow monkeys. Room was great traditional room. Ideal location if going to snow monkeys easy walk from the train station

This was a charming little spot. The host and staff really went above and beyond to make me feel at home. He took me and some other guests to a local festival that I never would have otherwise known about, and wound up being one of the highlights of the trip. If you want an authentic connection to what’s going on in Yudanaka, this place is for you. The hotel is super interesting, with a very nice Onsen. You also get access to some local Onsen that would otherwise be inaccessible to tourists. As someone who lived in Japan for several years, has travelled extensively in the country, and speaks the language, let me just reiterate other comments here: this is a really unique and cool place.

We highly recommended a stay at Shimaya Ryokan for anyone visiting Yudanaka. The location, cleanliness & attention to detail were outstanding and host/owner Mr Yamuto (apologies if name is spelt incorrectly) went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and that all our needs were met… even driving us to Snow Monkey Park and providing us with maps for the next leg of our trip. A very positive and memorable experience.

We loved staying at Shimaya. The family run ryokan is clean and has only a few rooms. This meant that it was easy to book the private hotel onsen as a family and, later, my daughter and I had the larger women's hotel onsen to ourselves. The family was very helpful and kind, even driving our family to Snow Monkey Park, offering to drive us back, and suggesting a walking route back for exploring Shibu Onsen. They also provided various sized boots that allowed me, my husband, and our 10 year old daughter to have sturdy boots for the walk along the snowy and muddy path up to Snow Monkey Park. Our room was a perfect size for our family of three, including an enclosed balcony with a nice view of the mountains. It was also located a short walk from the train. While the ryokan only offered breakfast (which was great), there were many restaurants in Shibu Onsen and Yudanaka within walking distance. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return if we are able.

charming - excellent service from hosts. as others have mentioned, they gave us a ride up to the monkey park, & to train station upon our departure, for which we were so grateful after a week’s trekking. as vegetarians, we were also super happy with the breakfast offerings. such sweet people, would stay again
