Strategic "Bait and Switch" & Major Safety Risks Despite booking six weeks in advance, Dar Ikalimo attempted a "bait and switch" upon my arrival. I was told they were "sold out" and moved to another Riad (close by) without prior notice. This alternate room was not as advertised and would have required me to move again after one night. Only after I threatened a credit card dispute and demanded a full refund did the staff "liberate" my original room. Room Issues (Fleur d'Oranger) The "Superior Double" is just two single beds pushed together. Design is highly impractical: outlets are carved into the bed frame, making it impossible to use a travel adapter. To flush the toilet, you must manually lift the tank lid. The room only has windows overlooking the internal terrace, which is a concern for anyone with claustrophobia. The most alarming issue is the locking mechanism. It looks easily forced from the outside, yet the internal bolt locking mechanism is a "death trap". Additionally, guests are not given a front door key/code and must buzz in every time. Even the private driver arranged by the property was a risk, texting throughout the entire drive. The breakfast are the only (barely) redeeming features. I had to check out before the official breakfast start time but was told I might still get it - which didn't happen as no one was present at check out. They also collected the "tourist tax" - but it took huge efforts just to ask for a receipt. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

The riad was extremely cold and the heating did not function. Guests during my stay felt the same and were wearing coats during breakfast. The bathroom had hygiene issues, including a blocked shower drain that caused standing water, and I observed small cockroaches coming from the drain. The bathroom and room showed signs of poor maintenance, including damaged towels and surfaces that had not been properly cleaned. Several amenities listed on the booking were not provided as described, including blackout curtains, bathrobes, and an in-room hair dryer (a shared hair dryer had to be requested each time). Broken fixtures around the room made the place feel shabby. Due to these conditions, I did not feel comfortable remaining and left my stay early.

Friendly staff. But, property was dirty, worn-out very dated. Old tattered furniture etc

We booked a 15 square meter room, it was not even 10, no closet, no privacy, toilet without a proper window and directly to the main hall and behind the reception. Same problem in the 2 Ikalimo Riads. Management rude, fooling and using people, you get something acceptable when you pay more. No pool, no disco nothing as in the description.

No es el más lujoso pero sí muy práctico y cumple perfectamente su función. Ubicado junto a una calle con guardias cercanos las 24 horas que da tranquilidad. En la Medina pero sin meterte en el centro, por lo que puedes llegar en taxi sin problemas.

El personal increíble. El servicio de Ibrahim realmente sin igual.

We were so happy to of found this gem of a Riad in the heart of Marrkech. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, we were greeted with a warm welcome and couldn’t believe how above and beyond staff went for us. Breakfast was delicious, traditional Moroccan breakfast and we looked forward to it every morning. The Riad is situated in a gorgeous location- right next to the Jardin of Secrets and one of the kings palaces. You could find loads to do/eat within a 5 minute walk but slightly out of the way of the main hustle and bustle of the busy Souks.Thank you so much we will definitely be back

The hotel is very traditional and is very clean and lovely inside . It’s not modern but you feel at home there and it has a lovely traditional atmosphere. The staff are super helpful and friendly and can’t do enough for you . The breakfast is great and it is very quiet . The bed mattress was very firm but that is the way in Morocco and it is not uncomfortable. I loved it here and would definitely stay again

Bien situé en bord de médina, pas evident à trouver, un passant nous a indiqué l'acceuil. Pas de signe évident. Qualité de la chambre moyenne. Bon petit déjeuner

Hotel was super clean and staff was service was superb! Our room was extremely small, it was helpful we didn’t spend much time in it!

Parfait personnel tres pro et adorable toujours. Cherchant a faire plaisir a recommander seul point négatif le jus d’orange au petit déjeuner en bouteille on aurait préféré des oranges pressées mais ce n’est qu’un detail petit déjeuner parfait et varie je recommande

Le personnel est exceptionnel accueillant, prévenant, toujours a rendre service avec le sourire . Riad vraiment super beau. Le petit déjeuner un regal.

Riad acogedor y limpio, con personal atento y cercano. Muy bien situado, cerca de la plaza y de las calles comerciales del zoco, pero en una zona tranquila y alejada del bullicio, lo cual se agradece. Desayuno excelente compuesto de zumos, té, café, miel, pan...todo recién hecho. Si volviéramos a Marrakech, no dudaríamos en alojarnos en este Riad, ya que todo el equipo hace que te sientas como en casa. Estancia de diez que superó todas nuestras expectativas.
