I had a situation where I tried to reach him and cancel it after half an hour but he’s not answering

I had a very disappointing experience with this property. Before my stay, the host told me over the phone that there was a problem involving the property's ownership and said I would receive a refund. However, when I contacted Expedia, I was later informed that the original cancellation policy would apply because they could not obtain the host's approval. This left me stuck between the host and Expedia, with no resolution. The lack of written communication from the host made it impossible to prove what was promised over the phone. I also expected Expedia to do more to verify that the property and its hosting arrangements were legitimate before allowing it to be listed. My experience has left me with concerns about the verification process and how disputes like this are handled. I would encourage future guests to communicate only through the booking platform and obtain any promises, including refunds, in writing before making decisions.
