Great place to stay in Ilha de Mocambique. Very central and with a good vibe. Included breakfast was quite OK for Mozambican standards.. The place is like a maze, with lots of areas to discover and with clearly unrealised potential. I just hope they replace the broken mosquito nets, as one night quite a few mosquitos got in through a few holes.

Cafe Central is right in the middle of Stone Town, which is where you want to be when you visit Mozambique Island. There are 3 good restaurants in Stone Town and all are within 50 metres or so if Cafe Central.
The accommodation is comfortable and very clean, with AC and fan in every room, and mosquito nets with no holes! Kettle in the room, a refrigerator, a bottle of water every day, not just on arrival. Hot water too, not that you need it too hot.
Service is very good and a filling breakfast is included, with fresh fruit and yogurt as well as toast egg and jam, and plunger coffee.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

The central location is great. I liked the public area and besides the bar/restaurant/reception space, there are several places to hang out as well - near the pool area and the roof. Nice pool although it could be a bit cleaner. Good WIFI and breakfast. Complimentary use of bicycles, a plus. Attentive staff, if there are issues or something is needed, they addressed it right away.
It would be nice to have a consistent TV reception and more international news and movie channels.
I would definitely stay here again.

Siamo restati due notti. La posizione é buona ed il personale gentile e disponibile. Buono anche il ristorante a prezzi ragionevoli. Le stanze sono spazievoli. La pulizia fatta tra una notte e l’altra ha lasciato a desiderare... avevamo sabbia nel letto e ce la siamo ritrovata anche il giorno dopo le pulizie... Molto buono anche il WI-FI nelle aree comuni. Ci hanno fornito alla partenza il servizio di un driver a pagamento: si é rivelato più economico rispetto ai precedenti e migliore l’auto utilizzata ... unica cosa correva un po’ troppo.
Nel complesso però devo dire che é stato tutto molto gradevole e dignitoso.

El personal es muy amable. La relación calidad-precio es adecuada, si se paga poco no se puede obtener una habitación de lujo. No obstante, lo peor es la arena que entra continuamente en las habitaciones de la planta baja y el olor a humedad. Pero el problema de la arena se debió al viento fuerte y constante que sopló durante toda mi estancia.
El desayuno está incluido en el precio, muy aceptable. Como digo, la relación calidad-precio es buena.

The staff at Cafe Central really make the property. They extremely helpful and really seem to love their jobs and helping guest. I expect to be wowed by the property given the previous reviews but there were just too many things not in order for me to say the property is great. The old building has character but there are a few areas on the property that need some fine tuning. Especially, towards the back of the property. The swimming pool was also full of algae during our visit but we seemed to be the only ones bothered by, it. The rooms themselves were very clean and well stocked with clean towels and even a few toiletries
