We recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally positive experience, with a few things worth noting depending on your preferences. The property is located in an emerging area that initially feels a bit industrial, but we quickly felt that it was safe and conveniently situated. It's within easy walking distance to both the ferry (free) and metro, which made getting around easy. There were also several good restaurants nearby, which added to the overall convenience. One of the standout features was the staff - consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. The all-day breakfast offering was a great touch. The hotel itself is clean, with high-tech check-in and room access that made the stay feel seamless and efficient. The room, however, was a bit unexpected. While the bathroom was quite spacious and well-designed, the bedroom area was noticeably COMPACT - just large enough to accommodate a queen-sized bed. That said, the room was thoughtfully laid out with good lighting and practical storage solutions, including under-bed space for luggage, which helped. Overall, this was a solid choice given that we were in Amsterdam during the popular Tulip Festival and most rooms had doubled in price. After we got over the 'initial shock' we were very happy with the choice.

This is a great budget pick for 1 person who doesn't need a lot of room because the room is very small. My only minor complaint was 1 night and 1 morning out of my 14 there was no hot water in the shower. The staff is very friendly and I slept well every night.

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits au Poppies. De manière générale, tout s est bien passé. Pas de mauvaise surprise. La chambre était propre, le coin sanitaire également. Le petit déjeuner pris sur place était bon. Comme évoqué déjà dans d autres commentaires : 1) la chambre est petite, réduite à son strict minimum, 2) il n y a pas de fenêtre 3) l hôtel est excentré. Mais tout ça nous en avions connaissance avec les avis des autres internautes. Pour rejoindre le centre, nous avons pris un métro qui n est pas très loin de l hôtel et qui est assez rapide. Le quartier de l hôtel est plus calme que le centre et on peut y trouver des restaurants ou commerce pour dîner. De manière générale, au vue des prix excessivement élèves des hôtels pratiqués par Amsterdam, nous sommes satisfaits du rapport qualité prix.

Huone oli pieni eikä siinä ollut ikkunaa, mutta se oli siisti ja hiljainen ja siinä nukkui hyvin. Omille vaatteille ei ollut varsinaista säilytyspaikkaa. Kylpyhuone oli suorastaan tilava. Henkilökunta oli asiallista. Hotellia lähinnä olevalla metrolla pääsi nähtävyyksiin nopeasti, mutta metrolle oli noin kymmenen minuutin kävely tai vastaava bussin odottelu. Amsterdamin hintataso huomioiden hotelli oli budjettivaihtoehtona kuitenkin erittäin toimiva.

Comfy bed, extremely clean and minimal. The fresh orange juice is wonderful. Only a 25 minute walk to the ferry.

Foi ótima nossa estadia! Ficamos num quarto perfeito, tinha ar condicionado, estava bem limpo. Recomendo demais Poppies!!! Voltarei com toda certeza!

We stayed at Poppin Hotel in Amsterdam and overall had a good experience. The location is great, it’s easy to get around, and both the food and service were genuinely good. The staff are friendly, and the room felt clean and well maintained, with housekeeping every other day. The room itself is quite small and compact, but if you’re not planning to spend much time there, it works just fine. That said, there are no windows, which is worth being aware of. We also missed having something as simple as a shoe rack, as shoes and suitcases quickly take over the already limited floor space. That said, the sound insulation… or lack of it… deserves its own mention. At times it felt like there was very little separation between rooms. You can hear surprisingly small things, like someone unplugging a charger or doors opening in the hallway, which unfortunately means you also wake up to it. It didn’t just affect our sleep, it also took away that sense of calm and privacy you usually expect in a hotel room. Especially as this was our honeymoon, that part was a bit disappointing. Another small but noticeable issue is the grout between the bathroom tiles, which is quite dirty. The room itself feels clean overall, but this detail stands out more than it should. I’d honestly recommend bringing slippers for the shower, just to stay on the safe side. All in all, a hotel with a lot going for it, especially the location and staff, but a few things that, if improved, would make a big difference

Zimmer sauber aber es war wahnsinnig laut. Beim Nebengebäude befindet sich ein Club von dem man den Bass im Zimmer noch fühlen konnte. Wände sind so dünn wie Papier man hört alls

Tiny room with a massive shower. Very comfortable bed and the room was both modern and clean. Extremely small space (you climb onto the bed from the bottom only and there is enough space for the door tomorrow and you need to move around it to enter) so more recommended for solo travellers. Location not central but easy enough to get to central within 30min walking and using ferry.
