Great hotel, quite location, friendly staff, modern, clean and spacious rooms. The breakfast was very good and evening meals could be cooked to order. I hope to return next time I visit Kandy.

We had a good time at Rivorich residence - The owner stayed late to check us in, and also gave us a lift back to town to get some food. The place is a little bit of of Kandy town centre, but worth staying at for the spacious clean rooms & nice big balconys.

While the property was a little out of town , it had a nice quiet outlook over the river valley. Buses ran past the top of the driveway and tuk tuks plentiful. Being right in Kandy could be a bit noisy .The owner drove us into the train station when we left . Geeth ( the owner) and his assistant we're always available to assist on any way they could.

Around a 25min Tuk-Tuk journey (400rupees) from Kandy station you will find the quiet Rivorich Hotel. Run by 2 very welcoming staff, the hotel is clean and a welcome relief from the busy city. The rooms are fitted nicely, with clean towels and comfy beds and the all important air conditioning fan combo made for a comfortable night sleep. Breakfast, included in the price, always filled us up for the day and was served at guests chosen time. Top tips: the hotel manager is a great source of knowledge and truly cares for his guests. We were fortunate enough to hire him to drive us to some of the best sites such as Sigiriya and the surrounding temples. He was happy to let us roam and pick us up when needed. I'm not sure he can provide this service in peak times. However, asking his advice and whether he knows a trusted guide or driver will ensure you get a fair price.

Dejligt roligt sted ved floden, hvor manageren ydede upåklagelig service i de doser vi efterspurgte. Da helligdag i Sri Lanka på afrejsedagen kørte han os selv til stationen. Desværre lidt bøvlet at komme til stedet, når man ikke kender det. "Vitoria dam river bridge" og så til venstre ca 500 m, før ned sf stejl lille vej på venstre hånd. Desværre en restaursnt inærheden, der var luket på besøgelsestidspunktet, men manager fremtryllede udmærket fried rice og fried spaghetti. Stedet anbefales.

This is the place to stay if you are looking for a bit of quiet from the town of Kandy. This is a great place for a family stay. Spacious room with a balcony view of the river. Good wifi. We were a family of three, including a 3-year-old, and this was the perfect base for our exploration of Kandy. We woke up every morning and fell asleep every night to the sound of river, birds chirping, etc. Geeth and his wife were wonderful hosts. They gave us two options for breakfast - we had a "Western" breakfast the first day and opted for the Sri Lankan breakfast all other mornings. It was delicious. We also had dinner in one night and that was also wonderful. Again, the location is outside the main town -- about a 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride, which cost 350 Sri Lankan rupees.

Nice hotel close to river. We stayed there to watch the test match since it is close to there. Nice room and nice people.

Our stay with Geeth’s family was pleasant and comfortable. Geeth also assigned Ruwan, a driver for our trip. Ruwan gave us bad experience, not limited to: - taking his time to repair the van, not repaired prior to fetching us - having his license confiscated multiple times, - demanding more money for places which were already in our itinerary but citing no time, distance - driving slowly, talking on the phone but saying google maps is inaccurate, traffic etc. - shortening our itinerary but refusing to fetch us home on multiple nights. We took tuk tuk instead - ushering us to e.g. elephant orphanage, spice garden where we think he gets commission, complaining when we decline as we found cheaper options e.g. central market - refusing to follow our pre-agreed early night drive from Ella to Galle (citing elephants on the road despite the electric fence) at the risk of cancelling our accommodation in Galle and additional costs in Ella - claiming van rental was 5 days instead of 6, despite having the receipt. We forfeited the money already paid and forked out extra cash to replace van and driver. - demanding money after a friend left his valuables in the van. Prior to that, he lied until we mentioned cctv footage - Privately disturbing a female friend via messages and phonecalls He complained we underpaid him but his actions made the rental we paid not worth it!!! Hence, please decline a driver named Ruwan who may also liaise with other hotels in Kandy.

Was a great experience. The couple managing the residence are awesome..their 2 kids are sooooo helpful...accompanied us to the river.

A lovely little hotel with an ultra welcoming family, great river views and comfy rooms. Would definately reconmend. It is a short drive out of town which means it is far quiter than the city centre but perhaps a tad less convenient for those who don't have transport.

Had a great stay and can't say enough about the owners attention to service and ensuring my stay was enjoyable. Everything was great; room was perfectly clean, well appointed and quiet, both dinner and breakfast meals were excellent. Owner even provided me some aspirin and decongestant when he noticed I had a little cold. Very attentive. I really enjoyed relaxing on the patio enjoying the river views. Definitely recommend this place for your stay in Kandy.

Totally blown away by the value for money of this place and the hospitality of the owner. This is a small hotel with about 9 rooms or so but totally worth staying in if you are in Kandy. Top quality, owner was the nicest man I have ever met and even drove us to the train station and helped get our tickets to Ella. Would totally stay here again. And the views from the delux room was superb! Even more there is parking, WiFi and breakfast. Dinner is available at extra cost but prices are very reasonable. If you were like me debating if to book, do it, you will love it!
