Sai Daeng Resort

I had a wonderful time at this resort! The room and beach were absolutely beautiful. The only downside is that everything is uphill, and there are lots of staircases around the property, but I think that adds to the charm and makes it a truly special place.

This is the most spectacular location I have ever seen. Located on an outcrop, there are opportunities to swim on both sides so that if it’s windy on one side, you can just go to the other side where it’s protected. The snorkelling is second to none. Just tipping your face into the ocean for a moment you see multiple brightly coloured fish and pushing off from there is like an underwater aquarium. We snorkel to the next bay and back with ease. After so much Thailand, tourist intensity this feels like an absolute sanctuary. We took advantage of the things that were offered on site like Mui, Thai classes, and yoga and the gym and enjoyed the breakfast and the resorts restaurant. Ice bath was a treat and the pool is colder than the ocean, which is a rare treat on a hot day. We use the scuba diving refresher course on site, and then went scuba diving the next day. We are staying in a superior room and our balcony overlook the bay that everybody is trying to get to either by boat or by car. It is on our doorstep. The room is great. They bottle their own water, there are solar panels everywhere and they have really made an effort to be environmentally friendly. We like this place so much that we extended our trip by a few days. Yes, this place is a little bit far out of the way, but there’s a shuttle to Surrey Beach multiple times a day. Highly recommended.

Das Hotel liegt wunderbar und schön ruhig. Das Personal ist super freundlich. Der Strand ist sehr schön, allerdings kein typischer Sandstrand sodass man barfuß ins Meer laufen kann, da man direkt das Korallenriff im Wasser hat. Die Liegen am Strand sind auch schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad war vom Zimmer getrennt, also nicht klimatisiert und keine Fenster, nur Holzrolläden - somit waren leider auch immer viele Gekos und tlw. auch Insekten im Bad - das ist nicht jedermann Sache. Frühstück und auch Essen im Restaurant etwas enttäuschend - hier ist definitiv noch Luft nach oben. Generell wurde das Hotel immer sauber gehalten, was etwas fehlt ist die dauerhafte Pflege und Instandhaltung der Hotelanlage. Dort gäbe es doch einiges zu tun. Ansonsten schönes Hotel mit toller Aussicht.

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. Staff is amazing. Views from the hotel are great. There was some dirt in the pool, maybe some filters should be installed. The restaurant is a bit outdated.

Beautiful setting. Incredible views. The pool with swim up bar is lovely. The snorkelling from the hotel beach was great - we saw a wide variety of fish and small reef shark. The only let down was that a few of the staff were unfriendly and a bit indifferent. We had just come from a similar standard hotel in Samui, where the staff had been so incredibly welcoming, so we were a bit disappointed by how unsmiling and disinterested a few (not all) of the staff on reception and in restaurant were. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Always exceeded expectation and pleasantly surprised. Room cleaned everyday without asking. Never had to ask for anything because our needs were anticipated.

Great stay, food needs improvement, very basic breakfast not quality ingredients or enough choice, same for lunch and dinner

Loved this place. Old, but it has its charme. looks like they are renovating a little. breakfast buffet was outdated, could be better. yoga class was amazing! in total I can recommend and would come back.

Lovely resort hotel, beautiful setting, great lodges with all facilities, helpful staff and a convenient shuttle service to and from the main town and pier. Free yoga and other facilities, plus an excellent spa. A fantastic place to stay, but not recommended for anyone with mobility issues - lots of steps everywhere. I don’t think the restaurant was brilliant, though it was fine, so we ate out most of the time. Still a great destination.

Great stay but you need to be a mountain goat to deal with all the steps

The resort is on a stunning tip of the island and the snorkeling is fantastic. This is our main reason for the hotel. The breakfast was good and provided different foods for all tastes. We enjoyed cocktails and the shuttle was handy for any trips to the town. Our room was a little tired and for instance our bedside tables had no sockets near them so unusable. Bed was really comfortable. View from our room was beautiful. Room was very dark and hot. We borrowed a fan as I don't like Aircon when I'm sleeping. All the staff were so helpful and always immediately responsive to any questions. A really relaxing 6 days . The gym looked fab with a view and new equipment in it. Didn't do any classes. Overall a fantastic relaxing resort. Snorkeling off the beach and on the back area of the resort makes this a special resort. Room was beachfront so everything within walking distance. Food was good. We enjoyed. We also enjoyed the adjacent restaurant in the coral view resort.

Ein altes und heruntergekommendes Resort. Die Preise für die alten Zimmer sind unverschämt. Das Internet ist extrem langsam und fast unbrauchbar. Braunes Wasser im Badezimmer unterstreicht den schlechten Eindruck. Alles ist alt, defekt und schmutzig. Wer nicht gerne viel Treppen steigt, sollte ein anderes Hotel wählen. Keine Empfehlung!

Property next to beach which is little far from central of Koh Tao, limited free transport available, the conditions of the hotel and breakfast is average

Very comfortable luxury rooms. Good restaurant and spa. Location in Kok Tao one of the best. A few options for snorkeling. Very clean water.
