Hotel restaurant over-priced given the number of eateries in the area

Everything was perfect except had an issue with booking through Hotels.com. I booked a room with king bed and a pull out sofa for three people. When I got to the hotel, we got a room with only a king bed. Lucky a suite was available, if not it would be horrible. And though I indicated 3 people at the time of booking, I was charged extra for a third person. Hotel is very conveniently located in the Byward Market area. 10 minute walk to the Parliament. 5 minute walk to Rideau Centre. Parking is limited at the hotel and you have to pay for overnight parking.

Very comfortable stay

I was a retired hotelier and believe some older model of air conditioning should be replaced because the noise disturbs the comfort and sleep of the client. Breakfasts arrangement is outstanding and cost effective for walk in customers; however for tour group perhaps the hotel should consider including bread/toast (I heard quite a few from tour group asking why there was no bread/toast). Staff in general are very nice and helpful. Moisturizer in the tube (in the washroom) should be checked to make sure it wasn’t dry and hard to squeeze out.

I loved the location. It’s so close to a shopping area and many attractions are within walking distance. The staff is friendly. The only thing is the first floor is right next to the street and it can be noisy The first floor set up is a little awkward. You have to climb a few steps from the lobby to get to the room with no elevators.

Great location and great staff.

Clean renovated rooms and surprisingly nice modern bathrooms. Directly in the middle of the Byward Market. Good for groups, with connecting rooms. Pool was good. Starbucks in lobby.

The rooms are a bit outdated compared to other Marriott

It is located downtown where there are a lot of homeless and this was quite disconcerting at times. Witnessed several drug overdoses etc. Lots of unfortunate souls. Having said that once you become accustomed to it the area has lots to see and do and is walking distance to many atractions and activities.

Great location , clean hotel , great experience

Je séjourné à cet hotel pour une nuit alors que je participais au marathon d'Ottawa en mai 2026. L'hotel est à 1km de la ligne de départ , donc l'emplacement est parfait. J'ai apprécié la propreté de l'hotel est la gentillesse du personnel, aussi le lit et les oreillers étaient parfaits ce qui est très important pour moi. Ma chambre donnait sur la rue et on pouvait entendre un peu les bruits de la rue seulement un peu car la fenêtre avant une bonne isolation, mais je dors avec des bouchons et je n'ai pas été dérangé par cela. Il y a aussi des chambres qui donnent sur la cours intérieur Je recommande cet hotel et j'y retournerais.

Very noisy street side …

The staff was very friendly, the bedroom was neat and the bathroom was nice. Great location with many restaurants around.

Great place to stay. Everything is so close to walk to. Staff was so helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
