My second time staying here. I absolutely love the grounds, that's the main attraction to this hotel. I stayed in the grange and the room was ok. Functional but tired and tatty in places. My bed wasn't fit for purpose and I was told by reception they couldn't change the mattress and I would have to put up with it. On my first night I asked for an extra duvet so I could sleep on top then have a cover. I was given a mattress topper, and had to start stripping and remaking my bed at 1am. Not exactly what I expected. Needless to say. Very poor sleep over 2 nights. The bathroom smelled of damp and the floor was disintegrating where water had continually splashed from the bath and shower. Getting in and out of the shower was dangerous. Steep and slippery. The grounds are beautiful, food was very good and waitress Lottie was great. Seems like hotel guests are second to corporate guests and visitors, felt that way to me. I'd love to return here but needs some work first.

The Grange is very tired around the edges and needs a re-vamp.

The Grange 2 building should not be opened for guests during a heatwave. Before arriving I asked if they had fans/air con and I was told there would be fans in each room. We had no fan. When I called reception they seemed very frantic and said there were no additional fans to give. We had no windows either, we had a door but being on the ground floor facing the car park a lot of people were walking past the room. It was very stuffy and unpleasant. The bed was very soft and the bed frame kept splitting apart. The shower head is old, it needs a replacement. We've stayed before in the building with reception and that was nice. But Grange 2 was not.

Beautiful settings and clean well kept rooms. Staff were excellent. The Grange was a little walk from the main hotel. Breakfast included was a standard ok, could have had more of a selection, but the evening dinner was fantastic. Will be returning to stay at the main hotel next time

Check-in was pleasant enough and the room was good (although the TV reception was abysmal). The major problem was not toilet paper was provided (and I subsequently discovered that the next room had the exact same problem). Had I been a lone traveller, it could have been a very embarrassing situation! But no apology from the reception staff - just a perfunctory "I will get you one". And no "how was your stay?" during check-out in the morning.

Window blinds was ripped, tea provided was too limited & toilet roll was too thin. Also breakfast was below standard, it was look worm & baked beans was too watery lack taste. Bed provided for child (aged 14) was not up to standard as compared to other hotels I have been to. I loved the grounds & tranquil nature of the surroundings. Also, I found reception staff helpful.

Quite underwhelming given the advertised photos. The rooms were dated and felt closer to a budget option such as a travelodge. A disappointing stay to say the least.

Just a really bad experience - travelling for work with a colleague 2 rooms both bad - my TV had no remote and the toilet in the bathroom would not flush when I asked about another room they said there wasnt one. They then send down a guy with a handful of old remotes that didnt work and looked like they had been dug out of a field, who insisted there was nothing wrong with the toilet I just needed to learn how to flush it. This involved pumping the handle until it flushed! The floor was stained in the bathroom and the whole place looked really terrible. Near to a road and the window didnt actually fit great for noise in the night and early morning - there was a big gap in the top of the window - the hotel looks impressive as you drive up but the rooms are terrible. - seems like im making it up until you look at the pictures, when i complained the following morning the guy on the front desk didn't care..

on screen it looks like a nice place to stop. When you check in, you have to get back in your car and drive five minutes away and stop in a modern building that isn't all that great - the bed was very uncomfortable, the rooms wasn't really very clean and you could hear the movements, including toilet use, of the people above and adjacent to you. I certainly won't be returning, as the promise was sadly far from met

Great last minute stay to break up the journey. Staff were really helpful and the breakfast was brilliant. Plus the room and outside areas were great. The only downside is that the room was incredibly hot and even with the fan which was provided it was really hot still. Definitely staying again when we’re in the area, just hopefully not when it’s 34 degrees outside 😂

So much to like about this hotel; the grounds and building are spectacular. Staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. It’s worth noting that many of the guest rooms are in an entirely separate building a few hundred metres away. There is ample parking close to the rooms. Reception and restaurant are in the main building. We were unlucky in that there was a noisy reception going on while we were at dinner and the music being piped was constant adverts which was really poor. Every one of the toilets needed flushing and cleaning and whilst I appreciate it’s difficult to stay on top of these things while there’s a busy party going on, it was nonetheless off putting. The food was good and reasonably priced. Bedroom was perfectly clean and well equipped. Nice bedding but horrible mattresses which kind of ruined it. Any shortcomings were somewhat compensated for my the staff who were just great.

I checked into a room at The Grange part of the hotel. I can only describe my room as (sorry) stinking of old people - that really strong old dusty musk. It was so strong I had to keep the double doors open for hours to try and air the room (even though it was very cold), and either it helped a bit or I just got used to the smell as it seemed to reduce a bit. I was really worried the next day that my clothes would be stinking. It made the room feel old, tired and dirty. And there was a strain on the floor that looked a bit like dried blood - no idea what it actually was but it certainly didn't look appealing. The room was accessible, so lots of important equipment, which is totally fine, but again, all seemed old. The Grange felt like the bit of the complex where wedding guests didn't go, and a bit more "off the beaten track". The hotel reception area seemed nice so I can only assume that the money is invested in the front end and wedding business and not much else. I won't be staying there again.

Great location and breakfast. Friendly staff.

Parking was easy and safe. The double room was small and it would be advisable to check with the hotel to ensure you get a decent sized room. On our last morning there was no water for washing or shower. I had to find a receptacle and carry water to the room from the pantry in order to wash and flush the loo. I know this was beyond the hotels control but it was awkward. I asked for a refund and was given £28 pounds. The ambience to the place is lovely as is the surrounding parkland. Staff were very good. Just a sad set of circumstances took the edge of our visit. We would consider returning but on the proviso the room was to our needs.

Waitress made the stay and she has been promoted to reception which is not a bad thing as the receptionist had a sour manner. Bar man had no customer service either. A wedding venue, empty and void of warmth and customer care but very pretty.

Beautiful hotel. Excellent stay and wonderful grounds and peaceful. Lovely breakfast and enjoyable but only feedback would be that a few more options on the continental breakfast would have been nice. And coffee machine made warm coffee not hot. Overall I would definitely stay again, staff were so nice and our room was just amazing. Loved this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back to stay again.

Our room, whilst having a double bed in it was such a peculiar shape that the person sleeping on the right was bang up against the wall with the smallest of gaps at the bottom of the bed making it interesting if you needed to get out with someone in bed on your left. Fundamentally it’s a single room with a double bed in it. The bathroom shelf hung out beyond the top of the toilet seat when lifted meaning that the toilet seat was at a jaunty angle. Breakfast on the Monday morning was not up to the usual standard. The buffet ran out! Yes it was topped up on request, but pay attention please. Having our plates removed mid meal by a staff member who had a pile of other customers dirty plates in her hand was an interesting method. One could consider more training is required in customer service. The reception staff, as always, were lovely as are the staff in general. This is I believe the 6th time we have stayed at the Warbrook. We were a little disappointed on this occasion although we will stay there again

Breakfast was great. Hotel was clean. Staff excellent. The Plumbing in our room was under standard, tap dripping and sink blocked, shower pressure very low and water temperature tepid, window sash broken, blocks of wood used to keep window open. When reported the plumbing was informed that the plumber did not work weekends

We stayed in one part of the Grange , which needs refurbishing. Not the main hotel or even the main grange building. The curtains were old , the bathroom shower unit needs descaling. The bedroom wardrobe and other furniture looked old. No safe , insufficient hangers . The bed had a very plain white duvet cover , not even a cushion or runner with a bit of colour . The external door to the building and window sills were rotten and door wouldn’t close, it didn’t feel secure. We had dogs with us so appreciated that we couldn’t be in the main house but the photos on the website of a Grange Room did not look like our rooms . Very disappointing as it was a treat for my friend celebrating her milestone birthday which I’d mentioned to the hotel beforehand and had asked them to put some kind of birthday greeting in her room . There was nothing . On the plus side , the amenities were fine . Two bottles of hair/body cleanser . Plus soap added the following day . Tea/ coffee was provided and two individual biscuits on each day . The pet facilities were nice, a comfy dog bed and a large food bowl and we appreciated being in the ground floor . The grounds and main house were beautiful and even the Grange looked nice from the outside but not our building. However, the food each evening was very good, and the breakfast and the staff were lovely and helpful. We had a nice time but expected the accommodation to be a little bit more up to date.
