Nice hotel.amd I remember the Gent on reception was very helpful and a great guy to talk to. We stayed here a good while before writing this review and these are the main things I remember since the stay.

This was a clean hotel , bed was comfy. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold options. Parking was ample . I visited the restaurant in the evening. Service from waiting staff was good . There was wait on the food coming from the kitchen. I order a salad with chicken which was overcooked. Would stay at the hotel again . But may be not the restaurant

Breakfast was good, Staff where also good but for 1 person who came in and said "you have not paid for 1 breakfast" while we where eating which put us off and got a little embarrassed while there where other guest. it was a strange behavior could be racial issue ?, they allowed all 4 of us into the hall, they could have indicated then?... strange but i guess that is how they treat people who are non-white ? , The day was very hot there was a fan facing us which was removed when 4 of us where sitting for breakfast, 2nd issue i noticed. again did they think that we did not need the fan ?, in my experience people always ask before they change or take away stuff... but here you go they run the hotel so they can do what they want.. but will want me to pay rents for the room, Pay for the breakfast.. funny is it not?. Water !!!!.. 1 can of water for 2 adult room ?... so should we share 250 ml per person !.. is that rationed water per person ?... all 4 of us were really tired and wanted a place to crash and drive back home the next day.. hence tolerated all the drama.. if you ask me will i go there again "NEVER".

Expensive parking for a hotel you can only access by car, hard beds and creaky floors. Clean property and polite staff though

We had pre booked an early check-in for noon. We arrived at 12.10 and there was much confusion and delays which meant we got in at 12.30. Four adults had to change and get ready for a wedding and it cut our time down and caused unnecessary stress. One person at check-in on a Saturday when there's tons of weddings is not good. She was overwhelmed with baggage and queues of guests. We were charged £40 extra for this and it should have been much smoother than it was.

The hotel decor was very in keeping with late 1990s hotels I used to stay in for work. I don't think there has been any refurbishment since then and the room looks tired and tatty. If I paid half the price I did, it would still be overpriced for what it is. Didn't have breakfast as I was eating else where. Finally there is a £10 parking charge per night, which is ridiculous. Wouldn't go back there again, once was enough for me.

We found the Mercure staff , particularly reception and the bar staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The only downside was that we had major problems with the tv, which was unwatchable andthe staff said that there were problems with the aerial

We had high hopes when we pulled up as it was a stunning building from the outside. Parking was £10 a night which was way too much! There was nothing around so it wasn’t even to deter people from parking and going elsewhere. We booked as it said it had air conditioning - but it definitely didn’t! We got a plug in fan that was like someone trying to cool us with breath from its nose! We had to go and purchase a fan nearby setting us back £45. It was tired, holes in the wall, tiles missing, rusty taps. This was no where near a 4 star standard. Will not be returning

My stay at the Mercure Hotel in Pembury was okay. My room was on the ground floor and adequate. The bathroom was very clean and cleaned for the three days that I stayed there. The bed was made and the room was clean daily and I have no complaints about it. The room was adequate for my needs.. The only slight grumble I have is that I did not find the staff very friendly. Sometimes there was nobody on reception at all and when I went to check out, I couldn’t see anybody around and was unable to check whether I owed any money or not. On the other hand, it is very reasonably priced so for the money I think it is very good value.

The room was so hot unbearably hot the window would only open a few centimetres. The fan was absolutely useless. The room had been left with the curtains open in the Sun blowing in it all day. It was impossible for either of us to get any sleep. It was like being in a sauna.

Very tired and shabby, can't believe its 4 star, an absolute disgrace that as a resident you have to pay £10 night parking, extractor fan in bathroom not working, toilet seat loose and moves from side to side, rust on the wall from the bath grab handle, sticky tape to repair a cracked window, bedroom furniture chipped and scratched, I found 2 peanuts on the floor which would suggest that the room was not hoovered, as for breakfast we had read other reviews about that and once again it was very expensive, so we went across the road to the garden centre, fantastic selection and great price.

Great location for easy access and plenty of parking space. Really helpful staff and great choice for breakfast. Just one night stay this time, but we would certainly be pleased to stay again in the future.

Easy parking at a modest fee. Staff were very helpful. Property showing wear and tear but acceptable.

Staff excellent, welcoming and helpful. Good value hotel. Only downsides had to pay for parking which seems a liberty considering where the hotel is. It’s not a town centre hotel. If they’d added it to the hotel price we wouldn’t have noticed
