No fan in bathroom so lots of condensation after a hot shower. Bed very hard. We could not find aircon. Front car park full. Carpet old and old fashioned. Tired decor overall.

Comfortable bedding, spacious enough room. Bed was clean, although bathroom needed a little more attention. Lots of loose wall fixtures such as the curtain rail, shower rail and sink tap all holding on for dear life. Long walk from reception to room through a maze of corridors and steps. Lots of space for parking. Complimentary biscuits always sweeten the stay,

Ample parking, friendly staff, good restaurant/bar options for food.

The hotel is nice, and the staff were ok. I did enjoy my evening meal! My mattress was extremely poor. Annoyingly, small moths kept on flying from the fan in the bathroom, which wasn't great. Not my first choice, but I would consider staying there again.

Lovely hotel and clean rooms, however the breakfast wasn't worth the price and the water appeared to have a softener on it which made it hard to drink.

First time staying at this hotel, I needed a hotel cheaper than London prices and this was the cheapest near to London as was visiting (fluffy) at the 02 arena took 1hours 25mins from hotel to London 02, went to reception and checked-in, rooms were cleaned and the staff behind desk explained about breakfast and bar, but I didn’t attend them as it was 1 night stay, but very nice hotel and I’ll be staying again if I ever get the chance again, 5*

Staff were great. All really helpful and accommodating. Thanks for making my stay alright 👍 The hotel itself is very tired inside. Is due a refurb/maintenance. Gym is ok, but some one of the machines is broken, and it wasn’t very clean in there. In the room, I was using ahower in the evening, as barely any water comes out of the shower in the morning for some reason? Food in the brasserie was very nice. 👌

The hotel is extremely dated and is far away from being a 4 star hotel. The rooms are small, hot & stuffy. The windows didn’t open fully (safety - fair enough) and the fan provided in the wardrobe was so full of dust it wouldn’t even switch on. Carpets throughout the hotel are old and tatty. The walls are littered with scuff marks and the floor tiles in our bathroom were all cracked. The hotel was completely understaffed so no wonder the ones that were there were cranky & frazzled. We booked for a family wedding but wouldn’t return.

From the outside it seems like a lovely place, but overall it was just... okay. The room was pretty basic and definitely needs updating. There was no air con, hardly any plug sockets (none at all by the bed which just seems weird), and the room definitely could have been cleaned better - the shelf above the tea station was dirty and there was a mark on the ceiling that was either dirt or a leak/mould mark. Parking was good though, and it was nice and quiet.

The rooms are quite compact and baking hot with little air circulation especially in the summer. There is no air-conditioning, only a standing fan. The family room is essentially a double room with a sofa bed.

Bit run down could do with some over and care in parts - the restaurant was full the first night due to an event would have been nice to have known before arrival so we could have found somewhere to eat. Rooms are small and no fridge or aircon which would have been amazing to have.

Awful breakfast, Not even a coffee machine at breakfast, a pump canister for hot water. Staff zero smiles, zero positive attitude. Would not recommend.

Was fine for a nights stay but room was a bit dirty round the windows and the while decor was outdated, could do with a spruce up. Free parking though, not much else to do there

I got disturbed in the night by someone in the corridor.

Sofern man in der Gegend nördlich von London (Nähe St. Albans) ein Hotel für ein Business Event oder Ähnliches sucht, ist man gut aufgehoben. Auch in kleiner Gruppe eine gute Wahl. Schöne Lage in der Landschaft, aber auch verkehrstechnisch perfekt gelegen.

An excellent stay and the location is perfect for us
