Very nice place, lots of things to do !

The hotel is in need of many upgrades. Our coffee machine in our room was broken, the bed was very old and worn out and the bathroom was outdated and had black mould. The ammenities are the saving grace here. Otherwise the hotel is not worth the money.

One of our favourite places to get away to for a short trip! From the amazing amenities to the most delicious food at all the restaurants. Highly recommend and we will remain forever returning!

The pools and patio areas are great. Lots of activities go partake in but it appears they close many of them at 7. It would be nice if they are open later in the summer. The rooms need some TLC, they are definitely starting to show their age. Staff in all areas were welcoming and friendly.

Loved the feeling of being at a cottage but with full service amenities. Unique hotel that brings you back to a different time. Wonderful to just chill out in the evening in main foyer playing old school games. Staff very helpful. Easy location to do some great hiking in Laurentians. Gorgeous golf course. BBQ dinner so delicious and with view of river. Food very pricey in main restaurant but lovely atmosphere. Would definately come back. Must be stunning in Autumn.

Awesome little hotel, we didn’t know it was the previous British Embassy. The staff are exceptional highly recommend with beautiful top of the line room and location

It’s a beautiful property with a lot of potential, but it could really benefit from some much-needed upgrades. The rooms feel dated and are in need of renovation. The food was decent, but overpriced for what was served. For example, the cream cheese and salmon bagel costs $25 and isn’t even assembled—you have to make the sandwich yourself. Dinner was average. About half of the prime rib was fat, and the rack of lamb lacked seasoning and flavor. The highlights of the meal were definitely the French onion soup and the cream of leek soup, both of which were delicious. The lobby and seating areas could also use better lighting. While I understand the cozy lodge aesthetic they were aiming for, the space felt quite dark and somewhat gloomy. In addition, the coffee tables weren’t being cleared regularly, so there were leftover drinks scattered around many of the seating areas, making it difficult to find a clean place to sit. May come back but not for the same price I’ve initially paid for during my first visit!

Great family venue.

The hotel is very nice outside but inside it is so disappointing for the price. The lobby area tables are rarely cleaned, it’s messy washrooms are not well cleaned either. Rooms are old and carpets are dirty. For a Fairmount hotel it is no up to par and the price is still quite expensive.

Charged me an extra 200$ saying that Expedia reservation don’t include all costs.

Unfortunately for the high price point, the rooms in the unrenovated wing are really disappointing. Tiny bathrooms, dirty floor carpets in the entire room, dingy lighting, musty odour. We booked two rooms through Expedia and both rooms were identically poor. Overall not a great experience for the price. The pictures are deceiving online, and if coming to this resort I would pay extra to stay in a renovated room. Our sink was clogged and despite a plumber being called and working on it for 30 min, no success. We were moved after to a room in the renovated wing and this was far more comfortable although they could not match the room bed type, so we needed an additional roll-away bed. The second room has no plumbing issues. Long wait times at the reception due to poor staffing. The resort amenities were decent and we did biking, mini golf, swimming, and kayaking. There is an additional $40 resort fee to pay on site which covers these activities.

Have been to the resort a number of times. Rooms and common areas are looking a bit tired and could use a refresh. Facilities and amenities are lovely and well maintained.

Beautiful setting on the Ottawa River, lovely walking/jogging trails. Food was just ok and very expensive in my opinion. My room was fine but dated.

The property is very nice. We enjoyed our stay except for the dining experiences. Both restaurants in the hotel

We always love to stay at Le Chateau Montebello because of its old world charm, the old fashioned elevators and quirky rooms. There’s lots to do in the summer. The nearby Montebello golf course is beautiful - check out the golf and dine package if it’s available. Also be sure to stop by the Fromagerie Montebello for its wonderful cheeses.

Their Wi-Fi has to be the worse I have ever run into. All of the happy moments caused by the little things added to make your stay more comfortable are quickly forgotten once you encounter this technological monstrosity.
