I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be shared.
I recently stayed at this hotel and booked five rooms to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, with family traveling from Saskatoon. I spent several hundred dollars expecting a positive and welcoming experience. Before setting up, I confirmed with a staff member that having food on the balcony was allowed, and I proceeded based on that understanding.
Unfortunately, a manager named Micha approached us and told us to remove everything immediately. While I fully respect hotel policies and complied right away, the situation was handled in a very confrontational and unprofessional manner. I calmly explained that I had been told it was permitted, but the tone remained unnecessarily harsh.
We were also told that the general manager was “furious” and that photos had been taken of our setup. There was even mention of potentially shutting down the pool because of our group, which was very embarrassing in front of my family and guests.
What concerned me most was that a photo was taken of our setup that included my daughter’s birthday cake with her name clearly visible. This was a private family celebration, and it felt intrusive. We also observed these photos being shared with other staff members, which raised further concerns about privacy and professionalism.
Overall, this experience took away from what was meant to be a special day. I understand that policies must be enforced, but how situations are hand
