The hotel is well located. It’s very tired, furniture in the room badly marked and needs refurbished. No food available during the day.

Booked a basic room, which is ok for our night stop over. Always clean and very comfortable, with great views over the estuary. We have used this hotel twice a year for several years with no complaints. On our last trip we found slight damp in the corners of the wall behind the large window curtains. We were immediately upgraded to a better room. No fuss. No blame. ( first time ever we have found a fault). All the staff (including cleaners) have always been Polite. Friendly and very professional every time we have stayed at the hotel. Evening meals are well prepared and very tasty. Well presented and hot. Our waiter was fantastic. Chatty and could not do enough to make our meal time memorable. Breakfast buffet is very well presented, both for continental style meals and English breakfast and there is lots of it. We have the same staff member (when we visit twice a year), who puts in a lot of effort to make sure we enjoy our meals there. What is also good is that the hotel is on the estuary with great views, and is literally a very easy 5 minutes drive to the main port. well worth a visit.

The location of this hotel is very good and convenient for getting around the city. However, the room was a bit small. My main concern was the air conditioning. During our stay, the weather was very hot, but the air conditioning in our room was very weak and did not cool the room properly. We reported this to the reception, but were told that the system was less effective because many guests were using it at the same time. Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved, and we felt quite uncomfortable during the nights because of the heat. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because I expected reliable air conditioning, so this was particularly disappointing. Considering the price we paid, I expected a more comfortable experience. In addition, the hair dryer provided in the room was not clean. While the location is a strong point, the poor air conditioning significantly affected our stay.

Worst hotel ever. They’re very unhelpful and room is where slaves used to live in…. I would not stay here ever again specially if you’re an American be careful when traveling to Spain

Not a 4-star hotel, room was fine but lots of noise from the train just outside the window. Breakfast is pretty good. Check-in took ages to do.

Restaurant was nice but the room was disgusting. Very very cold and smelt very strong of drains all through the night. No gesture of good will from the hotel. Apart from wavering the £15 parking fee. Reception staff did not listen and we found them very rude.

Why listing such hotel, the most horrible people at the desk. They forgot to call a cab an we lost a connection. Some employees told us the they get poorly paid and that is why desk people don’t care

This is an architecturally lovely building and because of its age and situation, is not planned out in a conventional way. It is conveniently located within 10 minutes walk of Santurtzi where there are many restaurants and a short 6 - 7 minutes drive (5.6km) to Bilbao Ferry Terminal. The hotel provides shower and hand gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Rooms have air-conditioning. While the shower was over the bath, it was excellent but the screen allowed water onto the floor. The hairdryer needed replaced as it kept overheating and cutting out; an ongoing issue judging by the plastic deformation. During the day, the bar was on the terrace overlooking the bay, the marina and was very pleasant. The car park was underground and available with reservation costing two motorcycles €15 per night. We chose not to eat in either the restaurant or the cafeteria and sampled local fare instead. The lower level second floor smelt a bit damp and fusty, as did our room; as if nobody had been in it for a few days. The hotel hosts functions such as weddings. While any noise is curfewed at mid-night, if you need to sleep before that, it may be difficult especially if your room is located on the 2nd / 3rd floors. I make a plea not to let this place run down any more; the place is tired, needs decorated and management need to make checks on thorough cleaning of rooms and public areas. In my opinion it isnot 4 star quality.
