Great location in Bryggen with the waterfront just outside. Fish market about 6-8 minutes away! Great staff and the offerings of both dinner and breakfast are fantastic. Not Michelin star quality cuisine, but considering both are included in the cost of your stay , simply outstanding value. The lobby is very nice to socialize and relax . Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Airport shuttle bus stops right across from the hotel! Easiest way to reach the hotel. Great shops along the waterfront for shopping and can also walk to Bergen train station in 15-20 minutes, about 1.3 miles away.

Very dated grand hotel in an excellent location.. it desperately needs a makeover, but saying that it’s a great value. With free breakfast and dinner with good food and great service that’s what you’re getting. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. Just expect old school styling. Very old school. I would recommend taking one of the few rooms facing the harbor, even though they are smaller they have windows facing the water. The rooms that are larger often have half windows so we chose a standard room after seeing both, but it had a direct harbor view, which was nice..

Amazing place to stay in Bergen, highly recommend!

I left a bad review for hotel - they deserved it: My 21‑year‑old niece sustained an injury in the sauna shower — there was no railing to hold onto, and she fell, resulting in a deep cut and bruises. The staff did not have proper first‑aid supplies and instead offered her a “Coke and snacks,” treating her like a child. When I raised this concern with another staff member, his attitude made it clear that they simply did not care. It’s a shame that such a beautiful hotel is undermined by such unpleasant and unprofessional staff behavior.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel, with just one small complaint. The only downside was the 11:00 a.m. checkout. We arrived late the evening before, and unfortunately there wasn’t any flexibility for a later checkout. Personally, I think hotels should move toward a standard noon checkout whenever possible, especially for guests who arrive late. That would have made the experience even better. Everything else was excellent. Our room was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a classic, historic feel while still offering modern comforts. We also had a unique bonus window that made the room feel extra special and gave it a bit of a VIP atmosphere. The hotel itself is beautiful and couldn’t be in a better location. If you’re visiting Bergen and want to be within easy walking distance of the city’s most iconic sights and photo spots, this is the place to stay. We’d happily stay here again.

Hotel is well maintained, 14 minute walk from the main railway station. Dinner provided by the hotel was healthy with choice of vegetables and of high quality. Breakfast limited choice but tasty. Hotel service was prompt and efficient.

This is a nice older style building. Our room was a good size and the hotel is in a good location. Breakfast, tea and dinner all included in the room rate. Meals were good with a very good salad bar and very good breakfast options. The staff ate the stars at this hotel.

Lovely hotel, close to the shops and harbour. Reception was calm and relaxed with tea and coffee offered. Room and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of choice as was the dinner they serve from 6pm. A lovely idea with plenty of freshly cooked foods and salads. Would go back again.

The best things were: the location. It was walkable to almost everything we most wanted to see. It was quiet. And they have a wonderful included breakfast that fueled us wonderfully for each day

This was a wonderful hotel to stay at. The location was great, virtually right on the water and close to shopping. The building itself looks like a castle and is beautifully furnished. The rooms were incredibly comfortable. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I loved the little library in our room! And it turned out that dinner was also complementary and delicious. I couldn’t say enough good things about our stay at the beginning of our vacation!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel after our cruise. It was so convenient to be able to walk from our ship terminal to the hotel. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and out. The free breakfast and dinner were excellent. The beds were so comfortable that we wanted to stay longer. We loved the location at this hotel since it was in the center of the town and we could walk to everything. We would definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful stay from start to finish! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a super quaint and charming lobby area that instantly puts you at ease. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and unwind with a drink after a long day of exploring. The location of this hotel is a 10/10. Our group highly recommends this property for your stay in Bergen!

Lovely, peaceful place in a great location. The street outside can be bustling with people but once one steps into the hotel it is an oasis of peace. Very clean, helpful and personable staff. Breakfast and dinner buffets offered a great variety of tasty choices. Highly recommended. I would stay here again.
